You know what the problem? It's the pussification of this country. Remember back in the day when blacks protested? Police attacked them with fire hoses and German shepherds. Nowadays it's all sissy bullshit like pepper spray, rubber bullet and tear gas.

Our government should take Syria's advice and step it up and start shooting live rounds into crowds.
Yeah! Or maybe we should just round them all up and ship them to concentration camps. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Sweet video. These hippies had it coming. They were told to move, they didnt. They resisted, they got pepper sprayed. Suck it up, and go whine somewhere else. It could have been alot worse.

All i have to say is, if they didn't want to get peppersprayed, all they had to do was move.

Notice how the one kid on the right, in the beginning of the video, was like "... uh yeah i dont want any of this" and left.

The police let people protest and they let people congregate (notice how everyone on the grass didnt get sprayed, only the idiots blocking the sidewalk).

Non-compliance with a lawful order is justification for some force. These people we warned days ahead of time, verbally and with written notice. Now that they knew it was not allowed, they still disobeyed... Disorderly Conduct and Civil Disobedience.

Anyone who has seen this picture and actually supports what happened should be ashamed of themselves.
I hope the cop doesn't expect a medal for doing his job. (nicely done sir)

The police should have done their job and arrested the people blocking the path for breaking the law. If any of those people then resisted and got aggressive, then they could have been sprayed. Pepper spray is supposed to be used for defense or to subdue an out of hand suspect...which these people were not. Anyone that says anything otherwise is letting their politics get in the way of the facts.
They were sprayed to ease the job of the police to remove the protestors. It made the job infinitesimally easier for them ... I'd have used a water cannon nod

Only the force necessary to carry or drag away and arrest the protester. Pepper spray is supposed to be reserved for subduing violent suspects or when the officer feels threatened. Not the case here. Police are supposed to enforce the law, not take sides.

"supposed to" according to what?

Linking arms and refusing to move, when verbally told to do so (and then even when police attempt to physically pull them apart) is called active resistance. Actively resisting arrest.

Passive resistance is like going limp. Pulling back, pulling away, running away is active resistance.

As far as enforcing the law, they certainly did that.

I'm not sure I agree with the use of pepper spray in this case. Now taxpayer dollars have to be used to replenish the supply of pepper spray that was used. A couple of good solid whacks with a baton on each of them would have been far more cost effective.

Still, they do have quality videos to identify those who were sprayed. Those who were sprayed should be sent a bill for the cost of the pepper spray that was used on them.

I mean if that is what this is about. You should be pissed at the ones who were willing breaking the law, no?

It was either this or the baton. After the police investigation is done they will find that the officer followed procedure.

With all the criticisms that police get when breaking up protests, I think the police should just resort to just picking up the ppl one by one and putting them into the police vans. And, if any police officer is injured, then that's more money the city will have to shell out in worker's comp claims and hospital bills.

Where is that money coming from? The tax payers! Give these ppl what they want.

Or, allow the protesters to remain there. But, do not allow anymore ppl to enter the area anymore. Cordon off the entire area so they can protest "peacefully". Sooner or later, they're run out of food and water. Plus, they'll have to contend with the bathroom issue. Stick Out Tongue

Gawd I hate SD sometimes. These kids are angry. Weren't we all at one point? Grow a heart, these are somebody's kids. If pepper spray is ok to discipline with, well then, shee-it, try it on the high schoolers...

The kids were breaking the law. They were suppose to just let them continue? I am not sure how this situation relates to high schoolers?
