Man Says Ex-Girlfriend Stole His Sperm to Create Kids

A New York man was stunned to find out that his four-year-old twins were not an accidental pregnancy after all -- but that his desperate girlfriend secretly stashed away his sperm and used it for an in-vitro procedure, he charges in a lawsuit.
Joseph Pressil, 36, was not planning on having children with Anetria Burnett, with whom he was in a relationship for six months in 2007, he said.
So she took matters into her own hands, he told the New York Post, in order to remain in his Texas house and make a legal bid for half of his possessions.

Yes, the kids are the ones caught in the middle, but either way the gentleman whom had sex with the stripper, did so consensually - the fact that he knew he wasn't going to "keep" her around - should have made him a wee bit more cautious about what was going on.
I'm not blaming him, nor her - takes two to tango
I stand by my statement and wont change it because other's don't like it. You my not have found it offensive but I did and it was uncalled for. If this guy had been raped I would have agreed with him, but he wasn't. Instead of saying what he said in a different manner he chose what he chose.

I think that's how it is similar to a woman who was raped getting pregnant. I'm not downplaying rape because I know it's genuinely violent and traumatized, but rather that she is now pregnant without ever giving consent. It's not as if this guy was irresponsible and didn't use protection.
I think any reasonable and prudent person would not expect this man to keep tabs on the condom and its contents after it was tossed away. It is absolutely absurd to think that he is in any way at fault for what this woman did.
I don't think anyone should just "trust" the other person has it covered. Everyone needs to be personally responsible for their own ability to produce offspring. These two were only in a relationship for six months! Who's crazy enough to trust someone they've only known that long?
BOTH men and women have birth control available to them, so there's no excuse.
Because, just like it has been mentioned in this thread, some people are just batshit crazy.
And I fully trust guys I've been with for 6 months...but then again...I constantly talk about sex and everything that goes with it.
If accidents happen...as they will...both should be responsible, but I feel that if someone forces the pregnancy, then the other person should not be held financially responsible unless they want to remain involved...this is a hooooorrible situation to put a kid through...

Did I or did I not say that this woman needs serious help? I also stated that his rights were violated. What more do you want? She is truly farked up and I think it goes way beyond stealing someone's sperm. Which I have no words for. Go to a sperm bank, people!
I do not think he is at fault at all for her actions but he did sleep with her consensually. What she did was truly malice and I hope she gets what is coming to her.
However, those still are his kids whether he wanted them or not. Now he has decide on what is best for the kids. Because in all of this the kids are what matters.

This may just be my line of thinking and I'm speaking for no one else, but I look at it as if a woman gets raped and pregnant, she is obviously pregnant without her consent. This man impregnated a woman without his consent. It isn't as if the condom broke or they didn't use birth control and she got pregnant (in that case, he should take responsibility), but she took sperm from a condom to impregnate herself. It's like BQ said, he used his form of birth control.
I'm not saying in anyway this man having consensual sex is the same thing as rape. I'm not trying to desensitize the act or anything like that. I'm just saying that there could be a similar outcome where a woman could get pregnant against her will.

Fortunately the father is taking responsibility and seeking custody of the kids, instead of being forced to pay child support and never being involved.
What I don't understand is, why didn't she simply lie to him, tell him he didn't need a condom and "poof" she gets knocked up, instead of going through the expense of the in-vitro procedure?

The laws just haven't caught up with technology. It's only very recently that you'd even be able to do this and create a child from it.
There really isn't a comparable scenario because women do not expel their reproductive genetic material out of their body in any fashion where it would be viable and able to result in a pregnancy.

But that's not really comparable though, because he willingly entered into a sexual relationship with her. A rape victim does not.

I'm not trying to start anything here or downplay rape in anyway. I know how serious it is.

I wasn't trying to be passive about it. You weren't the only one to say something about his comment. I was just making a general statement.

I don't think he should be forced to be responsible, but he wishes to do so.
And the kids... don't even get me started.
