Man Says Ex-Girlfriend Stole His Sperm to Create Kids

901 November 27, 2011 at 04:58 PM in Babies & Kids (4)
A New York man was stunned to find out that his four-year-old twins were not an accidental pregnancy after all -- but that his desperate girlfriend secretly stashed away his sperm and used it for an in-vitro procedure, he charges in a lawsuit.

Joseph Pressil, 36, was not planning on having children with Anetria Burnett, with whom he was in a relationship for six months in 2007, he said.

So she took matters into her own hands, he told the New York Post, in order to remain in his Texas house and make a legal bid for half of his possessions.

I don't think it prudent to trust a person you've only known that amount of time. Then again, I doubt I would sleep with someone I knew only six months.
This^. Who besides that crazy woman does that? I couldn't imagine sleeping with someone in that little of a time frame.

Then my apologies.
I was just trying to stand up for someone I consider to be a friend on here. I just don't think VQ had bad intentions when he said it, even if it wasn't phrased in the best way. I know you would do the same for your friend.

I'm not calling you out for anything. I know some people have different view points and here and everyone has their own sensitive subjects. hug

Just think about how many people are out there having one night stands every weekend. If you think six months is short... Bigeye

Yes I would do the same thing and I can not fault you for it. Hug2

Rape is just one of those things I can't talk about. It's been a long time but I still have flash backs on what happen to me and it's still that one wound that wont heal.

I was more so referring to the outcome than the actual way of it occurring. I don't think this man having consensual sex is in anyway relatable to rape, just that the outcome of pregnancy against one's will is what happened. That's absolutely the only way it's comparable.

Rape is an incorrect and terrible comparison, for this situation.

The outcome would have been the same if the condom had broke. She would be pregnant and the both of them been responsible. The issue here is fraud. She manipulated the conditions of their "transaction" in order to defraud him out of money and a place to stay.

No, I meant that someone gets pregnant against the consent of one of the parties. Not the act of rape itself.

laugh out loud I can't even think about that. I guess I just respect my body too much to do that. But I wont fault those that do if that's what they want to do.

I don't think this man having consensual sex is in anyway relatable to rape, just that the outcome of pregnancy against one's will is what happened. That's absolutely the only way it's comparable. He took the necessary precautions to guard himself from impregnating her, but she used his sperm in such a way without his consent that should have required consent.

I'm not trying to start anything here or downplay rape in anyway. I know how serious it is.
I see what you're saying. But at the same time though, if this "happens so often" (I believe someone said that in this thread at one point, not going to go looking for the post though) then perhaps there should be extra precautions to be taken? Flushing the contents down the sink or toilet perhaps?

I don't see why that's so unreasonable. Granted, they shouldn't have to, but that's the world we live in now. Just like women shouldn't have to worry about leaving their drinks unattended in a night club, or they shouldn't have to worry about walking down a dark alley alone at night, but they do, because that's the world we live in.

And no, that in no way means the victim is ever at fault, man or woman, but that doesn't mean there aren't precautions that can be taken.

I have to know someone for at least six minutes before I'm willing to sleep with them, personally. A guy's gotta have standards.

A whole six minutes, eh? So how do you decide in six minutes that's the one you want to get your freak on with?

It's a complicated formula, I don't want to bore you with the details.

Plenty of people do.

And that's fine, it's their prerogative. But many of them balk at the consequences. If they don't want to accept the consequences, then they shouldn't engage in the behavior.

I agree. I don't think VQ meant it that way. It's just hard to come up with a comparable analogy.

There really isn't one. As much as we all try to equalize it, when it comes to sex, pregnancy and birth, we just can't. Men and women are different, and that physiology plays a major role in these scenarios.

I understand. If the condom had broke and she ended up pregnant, it would have been against their (or at least his) consent, but it would have been an accidental pregnancy.

This pregnancy was premeditated and against his consent. She stole his sperm to impregnate herself, so she could defraud him out of money and property. She committed and attempted to commit several criminal acts.

Unfortunately the victims (him and the kids) will have to live with the consequences of her crime.

The dynamic of what people consider as an acceptable amount of time as to when one would have sex with another person made me laugh. Especially hearing the way people talk here in college, versus what you both said in this thread. laugh out loud

But yeah, I'm not really trying to draw a parallel here with this man's situation and rape. Obviously rape is a violation of the woman's body, which this man did not suffer.

Right, I agree with you. At least if the condom had broke they would have been jointly responsible.
