NTSB has called for a emgergency cell phone ban in cars everywhee. No use at all. I applaud this call. There are so many idiots on the road who can't drive and talk at the same time. The worst are the textings. What we need is the cops to actually enforce the law. These things are already illegal in CA but people still do it all the time.

I understand that reading comprehension might be difficult for you but you should accept your faults.
"Q: May I use the hands-free feature while driving if my car has the feature built in?
A: No. The law prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from using any type of wireless device while driving, except in an emergency situation. "
It cannot even be submitted as evidence

I'm not sure how I feel about a ban. I'm more for it than I am against it, but still not sold to one side or the other.
I don't care if people make decisions that solely impact their lives. I respect the right a person has to make their own choices, but your potential bad choice shouldn't have the ability to impact the life of someone else.
If someone drives down an empty stretch of road in the middle of nowhere, smoking, talking, jazzercising, reading, etc then whatever. As long as it only affects their life, I really don't care. They will be the only one to suffer any potential consequence of their actions.
It really isn't necessary to talk on the phone while driving, and if the call is that important then you should pull over. Distracted drivers annoy the shit out of me, same with drunk drivers.
Then there are all of these variables and issues that come into play, blah blah blah. Yep, still torn.
Imagine all the shame that'll go on, it'll make the roadway all shameful and just disappear.
Can you not understand why that's hazardous? You do realize that when you're driving a car, you have a potential to injure or kill other people besides yourself, right?

We have already established the fact that states don't allow bus drivers and novice drivers to use any cell phones while driving. The debate is about the law as a whole. It will never happen.
Time to enter the real wold now.

I'd be surprised if it were more than 10 or 15%.

As I've said before many times, 30+ states are already most of the way there. For something that will never happen, most of it already has.

Lets put it this way, Tim Tebow will win a Superbowl b4 your total ban on all cellphone use will pass nation-wide.
