Dad got a Taurus Judge which he's already decided will be his "under-the-bed" gun. I can't wait to go shoot that thing. It's chambered for .45LC and .410 shot shell. Should be tons of fun to shoot.
Mom had her heart set on this PINK .22 Taurus semi-auto that she saw at the gun show where Dad picked up his Judge & my Mossberg but Dad wasn't having it. First of all it was smaller than my iPhone & Mom already has a .32 semi that fits in her purse; second Dad said "I'm not buying a PINK handgun unless Jesus himself is standing next to me on Judgement Day and he says I have to!"
I wasn't paying much attention to shooting & firearms when I was married... let's just say that this year my interest has perked up quite a bit.
Go fullsize Bersa Thunder to lessen recoil. of course you sacrifice width (conceal-ability)
Oh and I got an eotech from my dad for xmas!

I want a revolver next but I'm still not sure just what I am looking for. Probably something smaller but I need to go try some out to see what feels right. I was going to buy another right after the first of the year but I should probably hold off and see if I will be part of the layoff at my company this summer. Of course if I am going to be off for the summer that would be a great time to do a lot of shooting
