Linsanity!

With so much love for Tebow on the site, I'm curious as to why there is no attention for the New York's newest star? He is not your standard stereotype for a basketball player. He is an Asian-American from Palo Alto with a degree from Harvard. This kid was sleeping on his brother's couch last week and now he is on top of the basketball world.

Recent 3 game stats:
5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 25 pts
2 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 28 pts
4 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 23 pts.

These are Lebron James type of numbers. Is this kid the real deal?

I'm not sold on him though. I'm not hating on him, but I would like to see him a good game against a team that plays good defense or a good on the ball defender at PG like a Rondo or an inspired D. Williams.
He's a little sloppy, I don't love the turnovers. But you know what? The way he attacks the basket, the Knicks will be DAMN GOOD if he keeps this up. In the last couple of games teams have started to throw the kitchen sink at him on defense. Even tonight the Raptors were double teaming him at times with TWO 7 footers on the court. You add Melo back to that equation and things get really interesting. How do you double team the PG on a team with Melo and Amare? They will SHRED YOU. And Lin will attack the basket when you don't. It's going to be a sight to see as long as the clock never strikes midnight on this Cinderella man.

Exactly, right now he is a good player, but he is still young, and it is early in his career. Once he can limit his TOs to under 5 a game, he can become dominant. But tonights clutch shot was nothing short of awesome! He had so much confidence that he would make it in, nothing stopping him whatsoever.

the winning/points streak should continue for at least a few more games, judging from the upcoming opposing teams' performances.

I never thought I say this, but NBA basketball has finally become more interesting to watch than college basketball, for me.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or small sample size that I'm going by. But, from what I'm seeing in the media, it's seems like most ppl are really supporting this kid and following his success. And, the naysayers or negative ppl (very few though) have been African-Americans. A few have even made very derogatory, anti-Asian comments about the kid.

Pretty sad that they're probably just jealous of the attention he's getting.Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

And regarding the TO's, I don't think they have been that numerous to begin with. First off, he's only started 6 games! So, he's just learning. Think rookie! Secondly, he's a quick PG like Nash who's going run and gun it. So, TO's are almost inevitable.

But, in the games that he's started, he's averaging 5.1 TO's per game. Nash avg's about 4 TO's per game. And, what is bringing up Lin's average were two games where he had 8 TO's. He had two games where he had 6 TO's per game. And two games where he had 1 and 2 TO's, respectively.

Who's been talking negative other than Mayweather? I don't take what he says seriously. Almost everything I've seen has been positive minus Mayweather. I'd go as far as saying universal praise.

There was also that sports writer (I can't recall his name) who wrote on his twitter account regarding his penis size....at least, he eluded to it. Also, some of the sports writers have been skeptical of his success.....not negative but naysayers. Somewhat doubting his future in the NBA.

anyone even recall the Knicks wiining 6 straight .....laugh out loud

Why is Mayweather jealous? maybe he's just jealous that brains and atheltics are possible.. counting that Mayweather has only athletics but no brain ...

Pretty sure Mayweather is a jealous dumb jock, who's jealous that a person with brains can also have athletic skills

No, you misunderstood me. I'm not saying that all the African-Americans are against him. I said that most ppl (of all races) are supporting him and are really excited for him. For the few that are naysayers (doubt his ability and future in the NBA) or flat out have insulted him, they have all been African-American for some odd reason.

That's all I'm saying.
