GUN TALK: What are SDers packin'?

8,081 3,271 February 11, 2012 at 07:56 PM in Chat (3)
List what you're packin', and/or what you're looking forward to packin'.
  • Remington 870 Express Magnum 20ga
  • Springfield XD Sub–Compact 9mm

And I'm thinking about buying/building an AR–15. Big Grin Whee

Wave HVHDYMO?

HVHDYMO? Scratchhead

Would you choose a Mossberg 500 over a Remington 870? The Remington is almost $75 more. And would you get a 10ga, 12ga, 16ga, 20ga, 28ga or a 410?

I'm thinking about a revolver for my next purchase but I don't really know what I want yet. Anybody have any recommendations?

Mostly just looking for something fun to shoot. I don't want something huge but on the other hand I also don't care much if it would be a great concealed carry weapon either.

Revolver? How about this one!

The Rem isn't worth the extra $75. Half of the Expresses are pretty crappy nowadays, actually.

Get 12 or 20 gauge. 410 is one step above useless.

Get one of these, pardner.

Can also get a .45 ACP wheel for it.

The Mossberg 500 series are the pump-action choice of the US military.

Well if the government thinks it is a wise financial decision then I am certainly sold.

Normally, I'd agree... But their weapons are pretty rigorously tested.

My son picked one up relatively cheap, needed a small repair, and both he and my husband tested it out - yep, it would definitely do the job for a HD weapon. Hubby was impressed with it, though I didn't go the night they went to test it out Frown

I'll take TR's word for the Mossberg over the Government's any day Thumbupe

laugh out loud

I really like the Mossberg and will likely buy one in the next year if I don't get laid off this summer.

I'm just laughing at the thought of buying something because the government thinks it is a good idea. That may not be the best selling point. laugh out loud

I bought a Remington 870 because I had spent a lot of time with one when I was younger and it was just "familiar" and felt good. I got a chance to shoot a Mossberg a few months later and I think I liked that even better than mine. I wish I would have had mine handy to shoot both of them and compare them under the same conditions.

But for the price of them, why not have both? Big Grin

After three episodes of being around annoying Lori, you'd be begging to be zombified.
