I've heard of actors writing journals from the perspective of the character and I thought that's what you had to do. But I think it should be a little easier this way. You could talk about the logistics.
I thought a drama class about it would be fun, but little did I know, the professor won't give you FULL CREDIT for anything! If an assignment's worth 100 points, he won't give you more than 99 points to serve as a reminder that "we can always do better."
