I'm watching an episode of Iron Chef right now, and it's the Tournament of Champions: Iron Chef Michael Symon versus Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian in the battle of WINGS. They've got whole fresh turkeys and chickens. YAY MEAT Woot

What the bloody hell is wrong with scavenging? Tonight we didn't have quite enough lettuce grown for the whole family to have a salad so we substituted with dandelion (which i prefer over lettuce any day).

And then we had fermented greens and carrots served over TJ's palenta followed by an amazing lentil soup. yummy
How about dandelion wine?

Haven't had it myself either, I just thought it might fit your DIY ethos nod

Not yet. We've been experimenting with different fermentations of oatmeal and honey with apple cider vinegar. It's not to bad with a touch of lemon juice and ice, but I don't know how the farmers could stand it warm way back when they use to take a jar out to the field for the day.

Why not just make mead with the Honey? Or does it use too much?

I may in the end, but right now we want something more healthy that the kids can drink, too. I don't need the feds coming down on me for giving my kids Jesus Juice or something.

Nope. These are vitamin rich, enzyme rich, electrolyte rich, fermented, non-alcoholic drinks with more good stuff than most people get in a week. Nourishing Traditions is the book we've been using to make all of this stuff.
