ON TOP of the phone itself ? I don't think so.
What is it? Social status? My friend has one so I NEED one?
I'll take my dumb phone and laptop any day.

I think you're just so intent on going against the grain (even though it's illogical, cumbersome, less convenient, and provides no actual benefit to you) so you can delude yourself into feeling "unique" and "special."
In fact, you're so hellbent on going against anything with any sort of mass popularity so you can be "different" that you actually make yourself believe that the crap you have is somehow "better." And the funniest part about that is that it makes you so angry, you have to lash out at anyone that uses the devices that you hate so much. Which in turn makes you look like a complete idiot to everyone else because of your gigantic delusions, and then you become a social pariah. Well... bravo, buddy. You certainly set yourself apart from the crowd.

Do your friends with cell phones just have some crazy, unrealistic expectations or something?
I certainly wouldn't expect that. That seems like a really unrealistic expectation to me.

I have a smart phone and i am looking forward to the day my contract ends so i dont have to pay $90 a month.
There are some advantages to having a smart phone, but i HATE facebook and twitter and all that other garbage and i have noticed that the people who like smartphones the most are usually people who are addicted to those things.
Sure, $90 a month is a small price to pay to feed an addiction, but is feeding the addiction REALLY a good thing?
So yeah...I like my phone. Granted I did used to pay about $60 but still..$2 a day is not exactly breaking the bank.
Simply for Picture Quality its pretty much unbeatable by LCD or Plasma.... the reason the US moved to those was energy savings and cost... but in terms of which TV produces a better picture hands down a direct view CRT wins...by choice.
Theft proof a plus.

We've had a Wega (granted not XBR) 3LCD RP HDTV which was fine in it's day before we got our Bravia EX7 series I think 1.5 years ago. It doesn't have as rich blacks as my Panasonic Plasma but it's a great picture overall.
You can still get a (more updated) XBR if you want

...which will probably give you the same brilliant picture that comes with your Wega XBR.
If it weren't for your thread I wouldn't have my Galaxy Nexus
And it's very useful in long, boring meetings.
