Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

The supply lines have to come off anyhow. The supply lines are flexible. It just has to be deep enough to fit over the threaded "things" on the base....right???

It didn't have the metal nuts, just the black large plastic "mounting nuts" on it. The basin wrench works on the metal nuts....right??? Not disputing, just asking.

oh you bragger you.. and my Moen has the slats for a tool like that.. not that ya'd need it.. and Jim just finished a bathroom redo.. same thing.. had the dinky tool provided but he didnt use it.. this is the next one I want Big Grin.. I lust it!! I will have it!!

well yeah, it has to reach the nuts,,, but it depends on how deep the sink is if you can actually use the tool. The sink I installed when I redid our kitched is 8" deep. It's not fun getting up behind it to do anything. So that tool would be kinda useless for anything other than a shallow bowl sink , and still doesn't provide for any leverage.. The basin wrench is basically an articulated pipe wrench and should work on anything ya can get a grip on.

ahhhh, is it one of those overgrown white porcelain things from the early 50's ? or... and I always thought these were cool... the slab slate ones from the 40's ?

I wish.....it's a countertop, mounted on 2x4 legs, no base cabinet under the sink, the pipes go down thru holes drilled in the floor........she bought a very neglected house and does what she can afford, when she can afford it....but she gets by!
