Since your trellis is already broken, Try taking it out in pieces, instead of cutting the vine,,,,attach the vine to the new trellis with zip ties. Think that would work?

I have not been able to get on here until now lot of very personal problems.. But I wanted to thank the ones who had helped me on the birthday wish because I did end up winning and I got my 56 chevy. It sure made up for what has been going on.

Also I did read about my 2 favorite gals on here and there own problems I will say a prayer for you both. You two know who you are.Good luck

cwhetme and bornblondeey, I've been "gardening" more this year too. The difference is that I only have 15' x 30' in the back to "play" with because I live in a condo. I extended the flower bed on the one side to reach the clematis vine on the other. Originally because my Uncle gave me an azalea for Easter and I decided to put it in the back. The beds are edged in stone, so I still need to buy a few more to finish the 2nd row (thought it was better to have at least one row to enclose the bed.) Instead of planting my tomato/cucumbers in with the flowers, I put them in the new area with some sweet peppers. Someone suggested putting the cucumbers up a trellis, so I'll try that with one and see how well that works. The others can stay on the ground.
I envy you both for having more yard, but at the same time, I'm glad I don't have the work.

3 years ago, I bought one strawberry plant (with 3 in the single tub-have to slickdeal here). I always try to buy plants with multiples, then I soak them in a bucket and gently pull them apart. I put one in each of the 3 flower beds. This year, I have more than 20 plants and have had strawberries for breakfast for the last 4 days!!

The furniture prize I won from homefurnishings.com is turning out rather odd. When the fellow called Tuesday he said the retailer I picked on my entry "has chosen not to participate" - the rules state ...awarded in the form of a credit at the participating HomeFurnishings.com furniture retailer of winner's choice. I gave him a new choice but now he wants me to pick three retailers and they will "contact them in order to secure their agreement to fulfill the prize". The problem is that the options are rather thin with most of the remaining stores selling goods of questionable quality. Doesn't sound like winners choice to me. I really don't want to to decline the prize but may have to end up doing so. Kinda stinks.

It's a thought, and I thought about it as well, but that's just way too much trouble. Guess I could take advance orders for $599 sofas and $199 recliners LOL -- No, too much trouble.


I have just spent the past two hours scouring homefurnishings.com for every one of their retailers (and each store web site, and BBB ratings) within a hundred miles and have come up with exactly two additional stores that sell furniture that would be acceptable. So that gets me to the three options they've requested.
Perhaps I'm being a bit selective but really only want good quality, even if it's free.

I have those tomato cylinder-type trellaces that I put into the buckets last year. I bet they would work with the cucumbers in a bucket. Maybe even with strawberries. Do strawberries come back every year? I got colored trellaces and they are pretty so they look nice. I line the cement area by the back door with the buckets so I can hand-water daily with the hose before the lawn gets watered. I really need a sprinker system as the sprinkler has to be moved about 10-12 times to get it all and it takes a long time probably 4 times a week and an all day job moving it. If i go out i have to shut it and then put it on again when i come home.

Ya know, the talk about tomato plants brought back some memories.. This is another tom plant, planted in the same place at my parents place but a few years before the other pic I posted. My Mom didn't like her pic taken so out of respect I cropped her off the pic. I really don't need tips on growing veggies

You seem to have a lot in a small area. Good work. I put tomatoes in containers last year. I would love to grow strawberries, but even with all the land, mostly grass and stones, all my "gardens" which are individual areas surrounded by slate and so full that I cannot get through the roots of everything in them to plant anything new. I used to get a few geraniums every year for color but I cannot get thru deep enuf to even plant them. and little pots dry out with this sun almost immediately.

Saw this and wondered if it would work!!! We need to find something to keep mighty do Mikey off the wall between our yard and the restaurant next door. 2 foot tall dog can scale a 6 foot block wall!!!!! Gets up there and barks at the people going to eat!! Doesnt help that the owners like him and feed him pizza!!!!

It's going to be sort of a mad scramble...it's only three weeks from now. I'm super excited!
I seem to remember the option of the women's shirts, but opted for the men's. A consignment shop for t-shirts is a good idea. We've collected quite a few!

Just got home from a long day of riding....decided to be sweet and accompany hubby on service call to McAllen, TX. That's about as far down to the end of Texas you can get. Long boring drive....but was hoping after the call we could skip on over to south padre, which I've never been to, and stay the night....darned if he didn't fix the problem within 15 minutes!!! Blew that plan, hard to explain an overnite stay with that time. On the way back had to go through customs! Kind of intimidating, mind you we were still in the US!!!! Had a drug dog, german shepherd, and this hispanic agent asks us if we are US citizens, I wanted to ask :"are you?". I think I have authority issues. Thankfully we were clean
Anyway got home to find a big starbucks package: 3 bags of coffee, $15 GC, French press and nice long coffee scoop. Score!!! I must have won the starbucks contest, dunno, it didn't say.

Still cant redeem virtual Mastercards from Camel. Tried capital letters, 9 digit zid codes, nothing works. Any ideals, they wont return my e-mails.
