NC Marriage Amendment

I went to the poll today to cast my vote on the NC Marriage Amendment [politico.com]. As expected, there were a lot of lesbians against the amendment standing outside the polling place. None of them were hot. Not one. Just a whole bunch of greying, shabbily dressed, hairy legged women with signs. It seems like the lesbian community could have put on a much better display to influence public opinion outside the polls.
No lipstick. No kissing. All in all a big disappointment.

Oh. Oh wait.
I've known as many ass-ugly straight people as I have ass-ugly gays and lesbians. Looks really doesn't play into it (unless you're a sorority chick and want more attention at the local frat bar).
That said, I had to laugh at the dichotomy of the original post, and the two (so far) comments. Guess it isn't that obvious to everyone.

Because ugly people shouldn't breed. Duh!

A couple of hotties in red lipstick and tight skirts would have every man shouting "I LOVE lesbians!" as he walked in to vote. And would have undoubtedly influenced a lot of last minute decisions.
A bunch of grey haired women in baggy shirts and jeans shouting "We hope you vote against the amendment." doesn't make nearly the same impression nor carry the same influence.
