I have a black top that I bought with it. It's like this one http://www.express.com/print-slee.../index.pro, but solid black. I should be satisfied with it & quit looking. But.... when I got the same skirt in black, I started wanting a different color, so people wouldn't mix them up & think I'm wearing the same skirt twice. I know I'm Crazy. The blue shirt in the link doesn't really look that snake-y to me. If it did, I definitely wouldn't wear it. EEK! It's the ruffles that I'm not crazy about. I thought the different shades of blue may blend. Like I said I'm desperate, so I'm probably just seeing what I want to. Thanks for the help. hug
Believe it or not, a mom took her 4 year old and infant to the midnight show. Ummm, the movie is almost 3 hours (2 hrs. 45 min.)..isn't that late for little ones? EEK!

Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. I call it and give my order number. Then, it tells me one item has shipped (great). then it says, you can say "tracking information," "item details", or "continue."

I have no idea how to cancel a backorder. Granted, I've never tried canceling a backorder before, and I may just be doing it wrong. I just noted the number in case I ever wanted to.
Sometimes you get that response if the backorder was cancelled on their end first. This happened to me recently. If then number of items is says have shipped are correct for the rest of your order, you are probably fine. Once you get a shipping confirmation it should list the backordered item as cancelled.

wait, so you have 2 of that skirt, 1 in navy and 1 in black? that ruffle shirt would go with the black version of that skirt, definitely. however, considering you already dont' like it, i would say don't get it - ruffles will make your already large chest look even larger - an effect i'm sure you don't want. i like that other top that you linked, the one that was 40% off during tick tock. get that one!

thanks - i will rethink the whole maxi-while-travelling idea then. did they actually tell you it was because of your dress? (what are they afraid of, you strapping something to your leg?)

i just got a $20 reward yesterday. i've been doing lots of returns too... not sure what happened.
nod that's exactly what they said- they didn't want to do a pat down with a long skirt on, but they definitely wanted to have a look in there Teehee They also touched my hair in a bun - both in SNA and ORD, I had almost forgotten about that.

And yes, I agree about that in Firefox. I don't know how they coded their new website, but it sure is sucking! I get annoyed with having to switch between Firefox and Chrome just to find certain items.

. . .
Actually, yes. I think this is the reason. I've flown with a maxi skirt before. Super comfy, etc..got patted down from the crotch to the ankles on 3 of the 4 airports I flew in and out of on one trip. LAX, SEA, PDX, except ONT. ONT seems to be really lax. Eh, never again. I'd rather fly though security than being stopped. Also started wearing tighter jeans. Got padded down on regular bootcut jeans before - wtf..?
ONT is sooo lax on everything laugh out loud

i got some express orders today
boatneck dress - size 4 fits like the striped ruched dress in 6 for me. i'm so cheap, i feel like $42 is still a lot, so i'm still undecided.
surplice dress - i waffled on this for a long time. i decided i'm not getting it. i ordered the s, and decided my bottom is not curvy enough for it. maybe i should have gotten a xs, but i'm afraid to grow out of my clothes too quickly.
stretch ruched lace dress [express.com] - just looks so wrong on me laugh out loud too ruched, too fitted. has great reviews, but it doesn't look like that on me, even just on the strap area. maybe i positioned the dress wrong on me, but i won't try anymore, as i'd have nowhere to wear it anyway.
Tried boatneck dress in-store today, Size 2 fits like 4 striped for me. It is a nice fabric.... hmmm... I kept finding that the zipper was shifting off at a diagonal, not straight up and down - did you notice anything similar?
Also tried the Pleated Surplice 2-in-1 dress [express.com] Oh man, you better have some chesticles to fill the top!
Kurpee and Alvs, I also found 1 of those jackets in-store. It wasn't marked down but it's so nice! I'm definitely returning the microstripe one in hopes of scoring one of those later.

Next I find out he's a Neuroscience Ph.D. drop out, which as some may know, is kind of where I'm at right now. I thought the similarities would stop there. Then, I find out he went to undergrad where and when I was TAing Neuroscience classes. My parents and brother called to check on me. They were worried I had had him as a student and would be upset. Honestly, I forget 95% of my students, but did not see him on a casual search of my attendance rosters. Good, I don't want to reflect on it. i find in the surplice dress that i'm lacking in the bottom. i just considered the top to be a little lose fit, but the bottom i am far from filling up. i didn't notice that in the store, the several times i tried the dress on. i might stick to buying online, this way, i get to nitpick and buy less. i just hope express won't blacklist me for excessive returns (if they ever do... i hope not!)

which jacket, the blue one alvs and i have? if they are not marked down, have them check the price. i'm pretty sure express pricing is national and accurate with website.

laugh out loud the difference is, they patted my head when my hair was down (and straight)... LMAO i do have a large head and a lot of hair tho, in their defense.

what if we hiked up the maxi skirt? hehehe ok ok, not a good idea... just thinking.

i had that same thought when i tried on a similar version of that dress (the orange/beige one). i tried it in a S tho - maybe i'm really more of a XS in express. i did not try the XS.

i'm so glad you didn't actually know the guy... but that is crazy that you have so much in common!

In the surplice dress, I tried XS- the light horizontal bands are not very forgiving. The top I come close to filling, but you're right, it's probably not supposed to fit that way.

Yes the blue one, I think they made it in white too? Great stretchy fabric. I did have them price check it- $79 or some crap ugh.

I was being generous with the 5%. Wink It sounds like he flew under the radar for too long. I called campus police on an undergrad once- he was waiting outside an entrance to the building I had office hours in. He was rocking back and forth saying "I'm going to kill him, I'm just going to kill him!". It's too bad they can't all be so obvious Sadwalk

OK that is interesting that they did so with your hair down Coverlaugh What exactly was it you wanted them to do with 100 onlookers? Roll

The SA's were driving me crazy. I can't figure out if I'm an XS or an S either. I tried on Alvs/GoHeels fav dress (strapless sweatheart neck one) to nail down sizing. First the SA says, "oh yeah XS looks good on you, you know it will stretch as you wear it" 5 min later, same SA says "Yeah, get the Small, you know it will shrink". LADY, WHICH IS IT? Messed Up I think I want the print and the green. Oh how I love green Facepalm

Yeah, so many parallels...such a different result. Grad unions have been great about fighting for insurance coverage for mental health. At my grad school, the wait was 2 months to get an appointment. Much too long for that type of thing.

i am xs in that dress, but i know i am also at least 2 sizes smaller up top. which one felt better on you? i think if the xs weren't too tight/uncomfortable up top, i'd go with that one - chances are it would stretch. i probably wouldn't stick that dress in the dryer after a wash anyway, so how would it shrink?

i like the print. i got that maxi in that print - that is the maxi i've been considering keeping. i'm not a big maxi wearer usually tho, which is why i had wanted to wear it travelling. apparently that's not a good idea. now, where would i wear it to? Scratchchin

yes, there was a 3 month old. it was injured but i don't think it was serious. but i think the more important question is, WHY IN HELL did the parents of the 3 month old bring the infant to a midnight showing of a movie?!!! i swear, some people should not be parents. i really do not understand that.

thanks for the vote! i am leaning towards that too, but that means i have to return the first 2 and order the 3rd. laugh out loud i am also darker, so the cream color may not be so nude on me. i personally prefer metallic over patent, but i read lots of reviews that said the metallic is bad. *sigh* i am very drawn to these bc they have a very padded sole which i need.

WOW, interesting that the world can be so small. When I lived in CO, I went to that mall all the time! The theater opened after I moved to FL.

My mother and soon to be stepfather go to the movies all the time there, my soon to be stepbrother saw batman that night and didnt go to that theater b/c his friend wanted to go to one that was near thier house.

I am not much of a movie-goer and wanted to see it here in CA. Now I am kinda nervous ... now there will be metal dectetors everywhere. Irnoically, Batmin Begins was on last night on FX. I don't know where I am going with this, lol.

You know he wanted to get caught, and I dunno why someone would do that?

I finally found a size 6 in the striped ruched dress in clearance. I hope it actually ships.

Quote from kurips :
i think it did cover the belly. i didn't like the design either i think, like it was too ruffly.

i didn't even see when i said it was short, that that was what the newest review on it said too.
Thanks for the additional info. It's officially off the list. When I was trying on clothes last night, I realized I already had a blue top that I hadn't tried on yet. Facepalm My DH thinks it looks really good with that skirt. I'm undecided. It matches the sequins perfectly, but is a different shade than the stripes. The sequins & strips are different shades of blue.

Quote from kurips :
i should give up express. it's starting to be stressful :facepalm :
I've become obsessed with checking the sale items. Blush I really need to step away from that site too. That shouldn't be a problem for a few days, at least. I've almost hit my credit limit. Embarrassment I'm holding off on paying the bill, until I make some returns. Speaking of returns, will they have a problem with my DH returning merchandise that was bought with my Express CC? He can take the card with him.

Yep, I have that skirt in blue & black. Teehee I originally bought blue, then ordered black for a great price. It ended up being less than $10. I decided not the get the ruffle top, but I'm definitely ordering the "tick tock" top.

I tried that dress on again last night. After trying them on, I'm thinking I should try an XS also. If it will stretch to accommodate my chest, XS would definitely fit better from the chest down. I have the green, blue, & print. My DH & I both preferred green on me over the other 2.

Going by the size chart for the strapless ruched tube dress, I couldn't wear an XS in the chest area. Do you think it's accurate? If any of you larger chested ladies (34D-DD, or above) tries an XS, please let us know how it fits.

i am not sure about this. they make you sign on the pad when you return. maybe call your store?
Good idea. Thanks

ETA: I called & they said he could bring in the returns, as long as he has my CC.
