wave Hi ladies. This is OT, but I'm sad to read that some of you have had issues with The Limited customer service. I'm new to that store, so I am not too familiar with it. Thanks to Alvs for showing how to find good deals there!
Long story short: I tried to place an order today online, but I could not check out for some odd reason. I called customer service, and the agent also was unable to place my order. She printed a copy of my shopping bag and submitted the order on a different system (I guess they have multiple systems?). As a nice gesture, she also deducted the shipping fee and gave me an additional 15% discount. As a result of that, I was able to save an additional $30 on already great prices. For $92, I got 3 dresses, 1 skirt, and 4 tops. I hope I didn't jinx myself, but I thought I'd share this story to show that there is still some hope out there. Wink

What jewelry would you wear with this dress? http://www.express.com/sequin-top.../index.pro The beige is an unusual color. It seems cooler to me than most beiges, but not cool enough for silver jewelry. I have hematite that I could wear. Any other suggestions?

I have that in my cart. I'm debating on whether or not I'd actually wear it. There aren't many opportunities for me to wear dresses much less skirts. Where do you wear them other than work or work related functions?

i would most likely only wear it to work, tho it would be fine for dinner at a nicer restaurant, like a bday dinner for someone or something. but i'm not really sure... which is why i haven't bought it yet.

have it. that's why i was hesitant about the surplice dress since i can get same look and more with that skirt paired with a top.
what size? and yeah, agreed - not sure you need that other dress.

i'm glad you had a good experience. i had a couple of great experiences in store last year when i first started shopping there (due to alvs' influence of course! Coverlaugh). at one point, i got 3 dresses and a tank for $28, no joke. (in-store when they were doing 60% off clearance) sadly, these great experiences are a thing of the past for me. my store got stricter with returns and at one point i had to argue with the "manager" to even let me do my returns at the store. bc of this, i decided to send in my returns the next time, and i sent in 4 items in 1 box and was charged for 2 return labels and they refused to take one charge off. that was my last limited experience.
just be aware that they are generally not as nice as some of these other stores. i like the rewards at express better so i just stick to express now. plus, their cs is super duper nice, and i have yet to even run into any issues with returns. they've been super nice about them in my store.

i got it in 4. if you have a slightly smaller waist, you can do 2. i think i can do 2 and it actually fits better everywhere else, but i'm always paranoid of my muffin top and growing out of my clothes too soon.

also, haven't washed it, so i'm not sure if it will stretch or shrink.

Hi! Thanks for sharing this. You totally gave me hope. I had been admiring a couple dresses online that were on sale, and they went an extra 40% off today. I called and asked if they could "add onto" my old order and not charge me shipping. The guy told me he could place my order and take off my shipping charge because I had been waiting so long. He took my order, v$, and didn't charge me shipping! I bought this [thelimited.com] dress in purple and teal, this [thelimited.com] dress, this [thelimited.com] skirt, and this [thelimited.com] cami for $50. Not bad! Thanks for posting and giving me the hope to call in! I had really had my eye on these things!

Also, I have the sedu stuff from folica. I really love them, but they're not dual voltage, so be carefully if you bring them overseas (made that mistake in Australia). The Chi travel appliances are dual voltage, though. However, if you travel around the US, consider the Sedu freebies from folica. They're pretty awesome. The dryer is really amazing, and the flat iron works as well as my full size solia.

K, I have an extra $40/$120 express. Do you want it?

I'm back to the drawing for my formal dresses. I just tried the the dresses I hoped to wear on again, & I'm afraid they'll need too much altering. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should look for petite formal gowns for a good price? My DH likes me to wear long, beaded or sequined gowns on formal nights. He wears a tux for me. The dresses I have cost a fortune, which is why I was hoping to make them work. Sadwalk I don't want to spend that much again. I have too many winter clothes to buy & a kid to send to college. EEK!

I never wear dresses/skirts when we go out to eat. I should dress up more often. Florida is such a casual state that it's unusual to see anyone dressed up, unless they're going to work or church. Some people dress casually for that too. My DH would think I'm cheating on him, if I was dressed up when he got home. laugh out loud I wear t-shirts & sweats or lounge pants at home all the time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who buys clothes, then has to invent a place to wear them. You girls make me feel better about the things I buy, but never wear. laugh out loud

What aboutWindsor? [windsorstore.com] I know it's for formal school dances like prom and homecoming and such, but some of those dresses are really detailed with sequins and such. Is there a store around you you can go to to try on? I think for formal dresses such as what you're looking for, it's best to go instore and try and bring the shoes you will wear with it.

For me, I can always offset the length with high heels, but I know heels are a no go for you. I wonder if there's a Nordies or something by you that you can go to? I think they can do alterations for you. This is what I found. http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/rewar...lterations. I'm not 100% sure, but I know Nordies prides themselves on great customer service, so that's your best bet probably where someone can go through the store with you and really see what works for what you're looking for.

Just my suggestion since I don't know of anywhere that has long gowns that are for petites.

About dressing up for your DH - I think he will see it as a treat for sure!! Big Grin!

And yes, I too, come up with scenarios in my mind to justify a purchase. Buy first, think later!

GH, go to Nordstrom Rack. Every time I have ever neede a formal dress, I have been extremely impressed by what I found there and the price. You will make up for alterations with the price.

Alternatively, are you by a BCBG outlet? I've bought $400 dresses there for $20 when the price is right. This isn't peak time, so you may get lucky. I always get lucky there because they usually have the small sizes cheap.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever bought formats anywhere else. I hope you're near those stores.
