nod It's the fastest way to turn the traditional "thank you" into a "screw you" . Whether it's the groom parents or them, it doesn't matter to me... They took all these shortcuts to save themselves money, but never allowed any for us (hotel, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc.). I completely agree with you... We could have done a picnic with stuff from Costco/SmartNFinal/etc.... could have done a pot luck, would have been fine. Honestly, could have said "hey, we can't afford it so we're not going to have one - sorry guys" and I bet the bridal party would have materialized something and we all would have paid our own. The initial email invites everyone attending the wedding to a "happy hour" with apps, but then says, "dinner will be with bridal party only, you'll need to make your own reservations if you want dinner." So we assumed- OK, that's the true rehearsal dinner- wording was rude, but whatever- you're not buying them dinner and you want to make that clear. Now the email to the bridal party says- ".... if you would like to attend (consider bringing cash for easier splitting of checks)", It sounds optional right? 'Cause me thinks I would definitely NOT like to attendLMAO DH thinks they're so stupid it's probably just us- and not even the groom's parents nor the bride's parents OMG

Yep, they left soo fast, before the bill came. Bride felt horrible--it was 2 of her closet friends! OMG

Porda - I am continuously appalled by this couple. screw the dinner. Don't go. Are they having it somewhere nice? I've been researching places and some are super expensive! you don't want to get stuck with a bill like that. Tho, if it's a small party (like <20) then you prob won't pay expensive fees for private party.

If you do go, you should wear both white AND the bm dress. Change during dinner.

Hey! Smilie OT here....any recs on carpet cleaning companies? Like Stanley Steemer, Sears, Chem Dry etc? I am trying to pick one. Some people say steam cleaning is the best but others say they liked Chem Dry?

I remember it smelling nasty but worked. It was the only option at the lake house. My hair was super soft afterwards. I've only done it that one time.
