iirc the greater certainty of having a boy comes with the ultrasound. unless you've read about this, then i may be wrong.

if you're not that big yet, you can do non-maternity for the wedding.

eta: i re-read and you said "quick scan". if you meant the dr did an ultrasound, then if he saw something then there's less error with the guess... unless it was just a pure guess.
Yes, it was an ultrasound. It was with the maternal fetal specialist though, so I'm holding onto the hope that she's good with checking on other baby parts, and not as good with little itty baby parts and hence why she said... "My guess, and it's only a guess." lol I was only a bit past 16 weeks when she guessed too... lol

Quote from crazymonkey1980 :
congrats! wedding I would try LOFT, but its only online for maternity now. Old Navy for casual

oh yeah! I gained weight weird and wore maternity from the start, but empire dresses will fit good too.
Thanks For the suggestion! I totally forgot about LOFT and will check their online selection! I'm super short with a super short torso, so I showed super duper short, and at 11 weeks, despite me trying to "hide" my pregnancy until after my 12 week scan, I was already showing, and my mom and a few of my lady relatives already flat out asked me if I was pregnant. LMAO

The good news is, I've only gained 6 pounds so far, but it just seems right in my bump! So... that's good too! Except NONE of my old clothes fit no more!

Quote from nerdgirl :
Oh yeah, the Liz Lange line at target is great. I always want to buy pieces from that line, until I go closer and find out it's maternity. Lol.
Our target literally has like.. 4 rack of clothes... so slim picking!

So happy for you CG!! Glad to see all is going well! Hopefully it will be a girl! hug
Thanks Try telling that to DBF.... all he heard the doctor say was "BOY!" And off he went texting and calling everyone, and even went and told all the strangers we ran into that it was a boy! lol

Here is a cute site for nice maternity clothes. Just a warning, no matter how cute it is now, you'll hate it in a few months so only buy a little Teehee.
Oh I know! When I first had to buy a few pieces, the only place I can think of that carried maternity (I know... big idiot I am..but I was short on time!) was Macy's, and they carry Motherhood clothes.... and I spend $50 on a pair of capri Jeans, and $30 for a pair of shorts there....and I'm already looking at it like... Jeez... two items for almost $100, and I probably can only fit into them for another month! All the maternity clothes I've looked at so far looks... well... frumpy. Sadwalk

I'm so glad you checked in. I've been thinking about you. It appears you've been busy, since you checked in last. Wink This is exciting news! I'm so happy for you. woot Keep us updated on your progress. We miss you. hug
hug I've missed you too GH!!!! Will do now that I'm breathing a big easier! I never seriously thought pregnancy would be this difficult though! The hormones especially are driving me and DBF, and everyone else around me for that matter, super duper... well...almost homicidal. Coverlaugh

Try penny's if you have one close. I just remembered getting a few things there. I also wore normal clothes. I wore my sweats and yogas the entire pregnancy. Also bought some track suits from ny&co and just sized up. Look for elastic waists. I will try to think of more places.

Classy- in the winter I also bought a lot of maternity tanks and wore my normal cardigans and jackets over them unbuttoned. Thats a cheap way to get a nice look!

Confused I heard it was the opposite? That the fast the heart rate, it was more likely a girl, because supposedly girl's have a faster metabolism? Apparently though, that's only a big wive's tale though.... unfortunately. Frown For fun... I've also looked on the Chinese gender prediction calendar, did the baking soda test, and the bleach test, and the funny part was... it all indicated girl... so... fingers still cross!
..
my bad, i meant the other way then. hehe i just remembered reading that heartrate had something to do with it. (tho, girls having faster metabolism... i'm not sure i believe that.. Coverlaugh)

my friend just said that she totally believes the chinese calendar. that it is 100% true. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) obviously logically it can't be, but still there are a LOT of people vouching for its credibility so... keep those fingers crossed!

hug I've missed you girls too! Grouphug I've been going through a whole heck of a lot the past few months, and have been taken a hiatus. The good news is that... I've been busy cooking my little bun in the oven! Introducing... my little shrimp!

This picture was at my 12 week scan, and he was freaking kicking the poop out of me! Last week, when the doctor did a quick scan to check on his heart... she asked me if I would like her to "guess" the baby's gender... and she said.... Boy!!! I have three weeks until my anatomy scan in which we'll know for sure... But usually, I heard when they guess boy... it's pretty accurate... so no cute little dresses for my little one...although I threaten I'll put a dress on "him" regardless! lol I'm still holding on to hope though! Wink Although DBF is freaking elated!

On a shopping note... anyone know where I can get some maternity clothes? Not many options... and I have a wedding to go to next month too! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Yay! That's wonderful news, CG! Congratulations!! Groupwave

Congrats, Classy! That's so exciting!!

GH, glad you could use the code. I think strapless should be okay as long as you have a coverup with you. I love the same one kurpee likes (the cocoon coverup) and also have it in stone an black and have been wearing them all summer!

K, if you text "swank" and "wear" to 397-737 to get store coupons. Otherwise, online promo codes are 2349 for $50/150, $30/100, or $10/30. Otherwise, 2350 works for $75/250.
