I originally started losing weight to try to prolong knee surgery. I don't know how much good it's done them, but it can't hurt.
That's great news about your weight loss. I have read that every pound of body weight yields 5 pounds of force on your knees.

No time to do reviews right now, but FYI Showstopper Red is actually more of a bright orange. I received many compliments when I wore a top in the color, and all the women noted that "you look good in orange". Hahaha

I have to agree with the others, red/deep pink shade on the toes and bring the bottle for touch ups. Little to nothing on the nails. Even a clear coat can peel at 10 days. Might I suggest this nail buffer [amazon.com] ? I bought this guy after almost falling for the mall kiosk nail kit for $30. It's got 3 steps- Gray, Light Green and White. The Gray is an ultrafine sander (feels smooth to the touch). It grinds the ridges on your nails down so it is a smooth surface, I don't know what green does, but white is supposedly silk, which shines your nails sooo much, I swear they look wet (like a clear topcoat) for a week before I touch them up again. It's pretty amazing. The kiosk lady said not to do the Gray step more than once a month or it will thin out your nails too much. You can do the white shining step every day. heart it
I have that nail buffer. I have never used it though.

eta: just now thought about childproofing stuff.

Are there any pics of the makeup bag set? I cant get a good view of them when I add them to my shopping bag online...

ETA: Never mind....found it online! Returning you to your regularly scheduled Express shopping laugh out loud

In case anyone needs a better look like I did, it's here and the dimensions are listed as well. I dont feel I need any more makeup bags really but wanted to check them out anyways. I did like the Angels silver clutch from last week though.

Great that she's already considering non-traditional dress sources. So much apparel qualifies for free shipping on returns from Amazon! Also, now that she has her venue nailed down- she should be able to start making decisions at a faster pace.

Found a few dresses of interest:
Strapless, definitely a royal-ish purple, plain, but not tea length, check out all the photos uploaded in the reviews! $49.99 [modcloth.com]
Check out this dress from Overstock. $89 [overstock.com]
One shoulder from 6pm.com $85.99 [6pm.com]
A dress everyone can wear again... because it can be work as a skirt! laugh out loud A little plain, but can be dressed up with jewelry/shoes $35.99 [6pm.com]
Another one, hard to tell the material quality $35.99 [6pm.com]
One shoulder satin sears.com, smallest size is a 6 but possibly an easy take-in $59.99 [sears.com]

Now don't get me wrong, I still need the counseling for sure Wink . It will take a lot of years to undo the damage from childhood Laugh .
Thanks for these recs! I couldn't really tell what the difference was with a bluish purple and a pink-ish purple, but I see it now (sorta). I think there are some really good options here (that I like, but she wouldn't). I will see what happens during our dress fitting this weekend and then pass along the ones I think she will like! Thank you!!

I don't even own scales, so I don't know how many lbs. I've lost. I've lost from a size 12 to a size 2. Unfortunately, I can't put stress on my back & knees, so I've had to lose with diet alone. I count calories 6 days a week, & stay around 1,000 a day. On Sundays, I eat anything & everything I want.
Wow, you're doing a great job! I can't imagine how hard it is to drop so many sizes, but it seems like all the hard work paid off very quickly!

I hate how companies use the word "red" in the name, but it actually has a tint of orange. How misleading!

I agree. I actually ordered the top in a different "red" at the same time because I could not see the difference online. It is a brilliant orange. I like it. It should be named Showstopper Orange.

All this Express clearance is making my brain hurt. Stick Out Tongue I keep going back & forth between my orders & clearance to see if I paid more. Crazy In most cases, I seem to have done better with sale & codes. Naturally, there are a few exceptions.

I noticed a lot of you shop at Costco. What do you think of BJ's? They sent out postcards for a free 60 day membership. Is it worth our time to check it out. I've never been in a BJ's before.

Quote from PordaPoddy :
Sure, there are bad eggs on both sides, but the burden is on the one burdening others. I shouldn't have to ask, she should be asking how we're doing with it, same as how she did about the noise her kids make (which was nice of her and they don't make any more noise than the last ones... stairs were exciting to me too when I was little :coverlaf : ). I ran into her last week and she was wasted and said what great neighbors we were, that we "...haven't bitched much about my smoking" and whatnot. So, not very inviting to criticism, but I'll have to work it in b/c it sounds like she's going to renew her lease for another year. My mom was a smoker and I have smoked a little as well, could be why I'm less forgiving on the topic :dontknow : She also smokes pot indoors when the kids are gone and it comes right through the wall - I had to tape up our outlets. : annoyed:
I agree she should be asking. It just may not have occurred to her. She may think, since she's smoking outside, the smoke isn't bothering anyone. Some people are just clueless. The pot smoke coming through the wall is a different story. I would be really unhappy about that. Maybe, she doesn't realize it's coming through the vents though. Since you don't do things like that, she wouldn't realize what she does in her apartment affects other apartments through the vents. Maybe, you could create a foul odor near the vents to give her a clue. Unfortunately, you'd also have to deal with the odor in your apartment. The best approach would probably be to nicely approach her with both situations & give her a chance to change her behavior. If she doesn't change, you could be less nice the next time. The apartment manager may do something about the pot smoking, if she refuses to stop. California seems to be more lenient on that than the rest of the country, so he may not. I don't know. It would be worth a try, but I'd try to work it out with her first.

That's a lot of force. I can't really tell losing weight has had a short term affect. Hopefully, it will have a long term effect.
