Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

My upstairs heatpump unit died this spring....a $4-$5K fix so it is not fixed. When one of my kids comes home I just move the $130 portable window ac unit to their room. That heatpump has always given me trouble and it is/was only 8 yrs old. Compressor has been replaced in the past too but at least that was under warranty...argh! Good luck!

If it is just the capacitor and starts back up, you will get cold air but only until it cycles then it will stop running again until you get the new capacitor, but at least you can cool the house down first. Then just turn off until you get the capacitor or you will have to go out and turn the fan to start it again.
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately think it's gonna need replacing, is 20 years old!

My units are Rheems. My quote was for a Trane. I will never get Rheems again although I hear they are supposed to be goodshake headMy downstairs unit has had to be repaired over the years too. I am hoping to get a new unit installed after one of my legal issues is "resolved" favoring meConfused (by end of Oct at the latest).

laugh out loud Mine is a rheem too, but hasn't needed any maintenance until now. I know you'll be happy to have the legal issues resolved, at least the end is in sight now Smilie

My big legal thingy will be over by end of Oct at the very latest...finally after 3 yrs!!! The other one...is just beginning...but it is not such a big deal. I have just decided with both of these issues I wasnt going to just lay down and be a door mat. But whatever the outcome I will be ok. It is just a shame lawyers get away with charging so much that most people cannot afford to fight when they have been wronged. I call it legalized crimeFrown

The power was out only an hour or so and it was only a ten minute downpour. Sucks about your and K's air. Hope things go well for you on the legal thing. I hate lawyers. When I went through my D, It took over three yrs and cost $20K. It wasn't until I said I was out of money and patience, that It was done within a month. Then I went to a downtown place for a quick drink after court and both lawyers and the judge were there. I said "at least you could pay for my drinks too", not exactly a quote as I was asked to leave, but hey, I finally got my "2 cents" worth in. Wink

Mine is more than thatEEK! but I have refused to pay my D attorney who screwed up royally...left out evidence. So we are in a pissing match. Already into my new attorney 10K ! Rediculous! My mom is giving me my inheritance to fight. I cant think of anything better to use that for. I am lucky she is so generous and supportive!
Once during my 2 day D trial we had a 15 minute break, at 30 min I go back out in the hall to find my attn, ex's attn, judge in the hall laughing it up. I yelled at them to get back to work cuz they were on my dime! Maybe that is part of the reason I got screwed but I realized then, they are ALL in bed together...just a game and a paycheck for them. And, I feel this is why our government is so screwed up...many are lawyersnod Madomg...now my bp is up!!laugh out loud

Years ago I had a friend who became a Lawyer, Had to use him a few times tooEmbarrassment. But he always told me It's just a big game with other people's lives and money, And it's all about who ya know.
