RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Those of you doing the Pinterest....Just got email from Pinterest , I had to change password...and delete stuff that is being put up........there was a pin they instructed me to delete, there was also a newly created board that I did not make. Something about "i like to make money" so you might want to check yours.

Deleted them .....we'll see if I have any extra boards tomorrow..

Kim ??? Pull weeds... HA ! I just came back in from weeding... wasn't bad at all. Only a few that had to be pulled, then I just loosened the soil tru-out. Do you grow peppers ? Oh ! and I see I finally have some finger size yellow squash and zucchini on the vines. Terrible year, way too hot and almost no rain.
lol. I thought you just went out and took the picture....sorry, didn't know you had did the weeding.

My 2 peppers look like stick figures.....course I started ignoring outside when the weather got hot.....but my couple cucumbers seem to like that

I only put in 2-3 of most anything I put in.....couple volunteers.....the beans got strange way early, gave up on them (misshapen leaves, real wrinkled, etc.) Might get a mess for supper some time but that will be it.

That recipe I made of yours last week or so was from a zuchinni from the garden, lucked out with that.

Sister just called, someone else called her, told her they were in my area and saw some "funneling" .....about 4 miles from me......always wished I had a basement.

How tall are your pepper plants ? I put in 2 rows of yellow string beans where I never plant... its mostly clay and "rocky". I didn't add any compost at all, just loosened the soil and put em in. Most of them are up 3" ! I'll see where they go ,, maybe I'll top dress them with some compost to see if that will help,, I don't expect much from them this year. My cukes are looking good,, lots of yellow flowers, but as usual they are getting "sick" I should probably get back out there and snip off all the affected leaves now before it spreads

I did dust a bit early on, gave up...I put towers in 3 places....2 right into ground, 1 in a bed that is raised about 6 inches....all have these wilted leaves etc, Lots of beetles also. The blossoms come but most die

Right close to driveway and house foundation, don't know if that has any effect.

I do bush beans. Yup, consistant temps in the 90s will cause blossom drop. If you think you have nothing to lose on your peppers,,, try this. Snip them off mid-way up the main stem...and give them a strong dose of epsom salt. 4-5 tablespoons per gallon and give them a good drink !! Powdery Mildew ? and I've seen alot more Jap beetles this year too !!

I usually did bush, I love the yellow ....but the tower was from mom's stuff and I got 2 more and thought it would be good space saver....If they were healthy, think it would be

If I get off my lazy azz I'll do the peppers...it is powdery mildew I was trying to think of.

I don't think there's any diff in taste between the yellow or green,,, but it's much easier to find the yellow guys hiding in the green leavesnodlaugh out loud
