Farkers! That's pretty much the same sort of crap Cox pulled when I had them. It's why I switched backed to Verizon where you can sit on the phone for an hour to get an arbitrary estimate on your fix instead of standing in line for hours waiting for the same thing.

This won't be the last time I send you to bed in tears. Comfort

Roll No! But I have a family of 6. They are so big that we only had one each though. That leaves me plenty to slather with eggs and cheese for the next few days. When the fridge and freezer are empty, I start making stuff from scratch. The other night we ran out of tortillas, and I really wanted to tortilla size pizzas. So I just whipped up some tortillas, cooked them up, slathered them with tomato sauce, green peppers from out back, some onions, black olives, pepperoni, spam, and cheese, and threw them in the over. They were soooooo tasty. drool

The kids didn't wake us up until 730. It was really nice to sleep in. DS1 brought them all down, gave them their drinks and some banana, and put on Loony Toons. Yawn

Now I'm off to Sam's for some lunch and our monthly grocery shopping.

I wonder if Trygve is a brony?
Nope, not me. Though in contrast to most loungers' reactions, bronies don't even budge my weirdness meter. Haven't seen the show, actually.

I'm generally turned off by organized fandom; I like to do my enjoying in private (or in smaller, more intimate groups). I go to SF cons though, not because I'm a fan, but for the social aspect of it. (And sometimes it's an excuse to dress weird.)

I am still on an anime kick these days--it started with watching "Anime Music Videos" where people have cut music videos using clips from one or more anime shows and some of them captured my imagination enough that I then went out and got the show (and, frequently, the album that the music for the video was from).

Latest one I've run across: ElectroPenguin [youtube.com]

Though it looks like it may be a while before Mawaru Penguindrum is available in this part of the world. I think I can hold out. Smilie I looks interesting, but as much as I like the video, it hasn't risen to the top of my 'to watch' list.

* * *

I think I may be missing that important part of the brain that makes people love to have meetings. I don't know if it's a developmental defect or if there's any chance that it's curable. But I'm still trying to get the workflow straightened out at the studio and I got together with the technical people (who are competent but very much committed to maintaining the priesthood aspect of anything IT related) and the rest of the staff.

So I'm trying to set up one or more central servers to handle shared project space, libraries, tape backup (archival and for giving to clients), and common file areas for distributed rendering--and it's a bit of a nightmare tracking down all the incompatibilities between platforms, packages, plugins, versions, and formats--and I've got one person there who is absolutely determined to keep us on topic.

- And by "on topic" I mean "focused on how we can redecorate the facility to make it cool and high-tech." Any time we were trying to discuss the technical issues, he was determined to yank things back to, "how about we put all the render nodes into one small room with no ventilation and mount them all in a rack with some blinking lights so it would look really high-tech?" "Um, 'render nodes' aren't just for headless rendering; they're workstations that can be used for other things--do if the Maya system is sitting idle, it can be rendering 3Ds Max jobs, and all of them can be rendering overnight when nobody's in, but they are still useable workstations." "But we should put them all in a rack in one room so they'd all be together...."

And he was absolutely insistent that before we could even consider the technical requirements of the tasks, we *had* to settle on exactly how many computers were going to be used and what their names could be so they could all be written down on one big flowchart. (I guess he's firmly in the 'top down' design camp.)

And so forth. Maybe there's some way I could have my "meeting gene" activated so I'd understand the attraction and enjoy these meetings more than I do....

EEK!

I've taken a few pics the past couple days and look forward to trimming my landscaping (ahem!) next weekend once the new fence is up and all the bad wood (settle down, Beavis) is out! Cool

Nice, that must be why the Yanks won. I hope s/he can go there again to give them good luck tonight. nod

bulb perhaps you need a foxy assistant to send to meetings to take notes on what's actually important. Because really its all about the highlights, and we all know time is precious!!!
