Has anyone ever met anyone they only know from online? How was it? Awkward? Fun? Unexpected? Interesting?

How would you feel about someone you've only talked to online and on the phone staying with you the first time you met them?

Someone I have been chatting with online/on the phone for 6 years is coming to town and staying with me for 3 days. I feel like I know her well online, but I'm not sure how I feel about her staying with me for 3 days. I'm excited about it, but apprehensive at the same time. It doesn't help that I have a touch of social anxiety to begin with. Then you hear horror stories about people who you thought you knew online being false. Thoughts? Is this unwise? Experiences?

Stayed at Skippideedodah's for a week very very cool!
Dined with Piccaboo and Hubby Very neat people
Had lunch and took for a ride on my HD UnLikeThe Rest very nice!
Had dinner with w3kn and wife and Mohater nice people good time
Had Lunch with Lux cool dude
Fixed MDTerps a/c good friend
Worked at Bayern's house several time and went out for drinks. Miss him
if I forgot anyone , it's the meds, sorry

still have a list of loungers that I need to meet.....
