It has been this price many times. It is Aqueon model 17765. If you don't need it now, it isn't a once in a lifetime deal. It will be back.

Good kit for the money. This video shows 10gal vs this 29 gal.

Depends on the store, some of them have them at a lower price, or show them as the $69 price off the regular 'sale' price rather than the retail price.

So long as its the Aqueon 29 gallon kit its the right one. $69.99 is the sale price for it right now. A very good deal. If we hadnt just bought the 36 gallon bowfront from Petsmart last month we would have bought this.

So what all is included in the kits? Do I need to buy anything else to make it complete?

Product Description
The convenience of a boxed kit makes it easy for your customers to start out in the hobby or upgrade their current setup. Starter kits provide retailers a great opportunity for add-onsales of gravel, decorations and fish. Kit Includes: Glass Aquarium with Black Trim, QuietFlow Power Filter, Filter Cartridge, Deluxe Fluorescent Hood, Fluorescent Bulb, Submersible Heater, Aquarium Set-up and Care Guide, Water Conditioner, Digital Thermometer, Premium Fish Food and Fish Net.

That's very much everything you need.

I saw at my local Petco yesterday, thought it's a normal, everyday price

Looks like it doesnt include gravel which you would need/want for most fish

edit: was beaten to the punch by a few people Stick Out Tongue

The listing in the add says "29 gallon aquarium, hood, light, digital thermometer, 5" fish net, filter, filter cartridge, 100-watt submersible heater and more."

Sadly I cannot find the actual item on the website so it's hard to say what is included in the "and more" section.

Other things you'd need include gravel (I have like 50 lbs in my 29g aquarium which is excessive, but it also depends on if its 29 tall or 29 long), decorations (the fish appreciate having something in the tank to swim around/hide in/poop on etc), and various chemicals to treat the water and help the fish recover from moving into a new home etc. Also food and fish :p

My guess would be the kit includes a small bottle of water treater and possible a small container of generic food. At a minimum you'd also want a stress guard, which there will be many to choose from and I haven't noticed a difference between them. I also have been using a bacterial additive for the filters in new tanks.

I don't know if petco does it, but non-chain stores will usually test your water for you, so once your tank has been running before you add fish you can get the water tested to make sure the pH and ammonia levels and whatever are ok. Alternatively you can buy a test kit and do it yourself.

I am pretty sure that people in Alaska, use the fridge and freezer to warm up from being outside. When it is -30°F outside, 38°F in the fridge or 0°F in the freezer is nice a toasty.
