Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)
1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)
2. Hard-to-destroy stuff
-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)
- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)
- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
- Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
- Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
- Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
- Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Well it did deter him... he thought he could dig his way onto the patio and the carpet is toren up. (sigh)... back to the kennel for him. While my finance is working over time and it is tax season for me, I have hired a friend who is looking for extra cash (just out of college) to come over every day at lunch time and play with him.
Is he going to get a Valentine's Day outfit?
Today Gus, ate the last of the Pot Roast... We mixed it in with his food and he loved it...

Ok, my dogs are on this weird new jag that keeps getting worse. They won't eat their breakfast. They just lie around and suck in their cheeks and stare at it and look all politely concerned. They'll leave it all day sometimes. The only way they'll eat is if you sprinkle something "good" on top of the food like milk or cereal bits or whatever. This started b/c the old dog has cancer and is losing his appetite and we started bribing him with bits of treat on his food. But then Sophie caught on and now she's the worst of all.
Tonight their dog food from breakfast was still in their dish at dinnertime because we decided to see what would happen if we don't bribe them. Darn dogs.

He is much better than my cat, Shadow. She refuses to eat anything but one certain brand, and if she doesn't have it, she will just meow and meow until she gets it.
The worst was when she ate my shorts. There's a nice x-ray of the zipper in her tummy.
