My husband has been having trouble keeping food down for months now. He has dropped below 130 pound now. His Gastroenterologist scoped both ends last month and ran a bunch of other test with no findings. So today we went in for a ultrasound on his tummy. We have not heard anything from his Doctor yet. I was looking over the technicians shoulder as she wrote her notes. She wrote that he appears to have a occlusion in his SMA.
I googled it and came back with Occluded Superior Mesenteric Artery Has anyone ever heard of this. It sounds like the cure is some sort of surgery to fix it. Tell me I'm wrong.

He is out of surgery and doing well. But the doctor could not put a stent in one of the arterys do to a sharp turn in it right at the point it starts to narrow. The other artery in that same location is completely blocked and can not be stented. Doctor did what he could to fix the semi blocked artery. He will have another ultrasound in a week or two tho see if anything the Doctor did has improved his blood flow to the small intestine. If not he will need to have bypass surgery on the one that is 100% blocked.
