I am SO glad this was sponsored by Red Bull. That is EXACTLY how awesome stuff just like this is going to get done from now on. Could you imagine if we had to wait for NASA or some other governmental agency to do this? Not that I'm not a fan of NASA mind you... I just think that if private industry is allowed, they are gonna do cool shit like this all the time.

Wow...red bull is getting desperate. Red Bull who prides themselves on extreme stunts...has someone jump out of a capsule and break the sound barrier. Could someone explain to me where the extreme factor comes into play? The hardest part this dude had to overcome was not shitting his pants waiting 2.5 hour.

It doesnt take that much skill to fall out of a floating balloon and skydive. Pretty boring if you ask me.

The real extreme people involved with this stunt were the ones who had to crunch the numbers to make sure the person falling out of a basket didnt get hurt. But they'll never get recognized.

They did show video of it coming down to earth with a parachute. But that is the last I saw of it.

I have no experience with base jumping/sky diving. I would be willing to bet almost anyone who base jumps would jump on this opportunity, considering its a lot safer than what they do. This space jump was researched/planned for years. Those actual thrill seekers who base jump usually have a couple min of planning considering most of it is done illegally.

Again...this stunt was a joke. Thats all I have to say since this topic/stunt bored me.
