I have to keep a clear mind that all of these things are managable. I usually get my perspective in check every year when I walk through the halls of the Mayo Clinic with my Dad. Big time.
isnt that the truth? So many things we stress over are luxury problems, and we so often dont take the time to realize that!
So......talk to me. What do you do, take........does it go away? Now it makes sense that the last few times that I have skated, I developed a rash. Even the heat from the shower irritates me now. WTF
For me it's a combination of the things. I get the same thing from the shower if all of the autoimmune stars are aligned. Whenever I use the chainsaw or do any type of manual labor with my hands, they swell up and hurt and itch like crazy. Usually my hives start on my forehead, and I know to flush my system immediately. I drink a lot of water and lemon juice and hit the broth hard core. Since changing my diet to a more organic and locally grown one, things have gotten a lot better. For the most part I just tough up through it until the pain, welts, and itching go away, and getting back to the diet I should be on helps that.
Also, stress brings it on. Getting out of the city and in to the woods has drastically reduced my stress level. I don't know if it's the cleaner air or the less stressed bank account, but I can't tell you enough what a difference it made.
Mine started about 6 or 7 years ago, and I had to go to the emergency room twice because they got so bad I couldn't stand being in my own skin, but they pumped me full of steroids which destroyed my body and physically distorted the way that I look. They turned me in to Sloth from Goonies.
Have you started getting them internally yet?
ahhh thanks Lady! I
if they are putting you on all these scripts, be very careful of your elimination organs-- liver, kidneys, etc. Pharmaceuticals can wreak havoc on them-- so it's important to keep your diet as clean as ever! Drink lots and lots of water.
what foods have histimines?
Very sorry to hear about your FIL. What a rough year
Yeah, believe me, I'm not thrilled about more meds. I've been on quite a few since I got the neuropathy I told you about amongst other things. I really need to increase the water now!!!
Foods that I can remember with histamines: Tomatos, spinach, fermented things (cheese, wine, pickled things) lunch meat.......there's more

Have you looked at possible natural remedies?

an old boss of mine had a surgery for neuropathy in his hands, and I know some people that had it in their legs/feet -- associated with prolonged alcoholism. Sounds so painful

Well one thing I did do was refuse any steroids except for the cream. I got 2 different antihistamines....one is taken every morning. The other is if the symptoms are severe and unbearable. At this point I need them to control the histamines that are shooting off 24/7.
When I had the Bactrim reaction they wanted me on prednisone but I would not take it. Thank God Benadryl got rid of it within 2 days. No more sulfa drugs for me....they said if I took one again after the severity of this reaction, there is a high chance I would end up with Stevens Johnson syndrome. I actually need to order a med bracelet.
I have no idea if I get them internally.
I know I want to skate
raw local honey ! I think it works wonders! Dont you? Moot may benefit by checking the local farmer's market for some
what did they tell you about the neuropathy? My mom is getting nerve tests tomorrow for nerve damage in her feet. I'm concerned it may be neuropathy-- they thought it was gout. Poor thing has been having problems off and on with them lately and I think she tries to keep the pain to herself
