Target Chit Chat

This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

There is a social group? Oh dear! Count me in on the "can't figure out group" laugh out loud

Thrifty- So cute!!!!

Dpags- No KM for like 300 miles! LOL. I'd love a few and will PM you Smilie

Gator- The one I have is a small size Frown

Did anyone else realize that there is no mail for the holiday tomorrow?? Oh well!

I had the BEST dinner tonight! I'm gonna brag on it too Wink So I made Lobster tails drool, some Jasmine rice, fresh asparagus, and yukon gold potatoes lightly drizzled with olive oil and italian seasonings, then baked until just crispy. I didn't eat the rice (that's for DD!), but I ate everything else! My DD ate the lobster tail surprisingly. They were tiny (3oz) but mmm good!

I made homemade bananna pudding for DD for desert, she is going to be so happy to see it in a little bit.

LOL - is the social group one of the new updates here? ROFL Don't ask me - I don't even see the update for the Rep boxes -

Glad you are feeling better - the dinner sounds DELICIOUS!!!!! I would love to pick your brain about the potatoes ... and the lobster sounds amazing! Your dd is lucky to have such a cook-tacular Mum!

Didn't know there was no mail tomorrow - LAME! Thanks for letting me know though -

Hey 4BB - thanks for the heads up on secondary infections! One of the things the doc noticed about my oldet dd with the H1N1 is that she has ear infections - so that must be something they look for.

Things have been hectic. You know when I said "when it rains, it pours..." apparently, that was just the drizzle!

We got word on the way home from church tonite that DH's grandfather has passed away. I've just spent an hour looking at car rentals. Hubby is still kind of in shock. They were very close.

Does anyone know of any good deals on car rentals? With the problems we've had, we're hesitant to drive our car personal car up. I guess it's a good thing DH got paid friday *sigh*.

Congrats to your DS on his first tooth! That is so awesome woot I'll pm you how to do the potatoes! So simple and delish! I heart to cook, I mean really love it. Unfortunately I have a picky child and a picky DF, so I never get the chance! My poor friends never starved when I was living near them! I bake almost daily, because I know the I will have 2-5 kids here who will eat it. At least they eat it and not me LMAO I prefer salty stuff, not sweets!

Enterprise has the small compacts for $25ish per day, not sure how many are in your family if you could get away with that or not?

I'm so sorry :hugs:

Ank ~ Also wanted to add that if you have a Costco/BJ's membership you can get a lower rate that way...and you can use the coupons they have on their website (usually found under travel) to use on the cheaper rate as well. hug

Wish I had the costco/bj's here! Thank you.

Dec12girl - I hope you got to use the q's. Frown I can't believe they took so long to get there!

Thank you all for the hugs and well wishes. DH went to bed. I think he's pretty shaken up. It wasn't really all that unexpected because of grandpa's health issues, but still hard. His mom and aunts are taking it roughly too. Grandma seems to be doing better then everyone expected, but she could be kind of in shock right now too. He was a good dad and grandfather & a very loving man.

I hope everyone had a good shopping day..

went to KM, rinsed and repeated many times.. used Qs.. left VERY happy..

Went to T used Qs, left happy Smilie

Went to another KM.. used just a few Qs as they had NO holiday glade.. but left happy.

Took 3 of the 4 kids and they managed to behave pretty good... that is one of my hardest thing as a mom.. dealing with 4 kids in the store and getting them ALL to behave, its such a struggle

As for a car rental, I always do priceline and hotwire.. great prices.. esp if you have an aiport near you!

Was quickly skimming the pages, hug to all the sick kiddos and parents...

Getting ready for Thanksgiving, ours is tomorrow... yummy Turkey...

Try Hotwire for car deals... I've gotten some really good deals on there. Not sure where you have to rent from, cause of course certain cities are way higher than others, but never had a problem with Hotwire, and always is a "Corporate Known Name Company" not rent a wreck or anything

Sorry to her about DH grandfather. hug

As a backup plan, I like carrentals.com (not the same as retalcars.com).

You can make a confirmed reservation WITHOUT a credit card hold. Wink
