Target Chit Chat

This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Video link plz! laugh out loud I missed this one.

Went to the OB for my last appt, told him to be careful up there and not knock anything loose. Wink Got my induction papers for Monday, now to stay immobile for the rest of the weekend as to not rustle her free. I swear, my heart is SO set on her sharing my birthday that if she comes early I am going to be one pissed off momma!
You keep your legs crossed tight and I'll cross my fingers!

Well, we have decided on a name, It's the 1st time ever agreeing b4 the baby is even here, but I like to wait until they are here before telling people because I dont need anyones opinion - good or bad - and I dont need to see the judgement in peoples faces.

My kids have different names and my FIL has never liked any of them so I have learned not to share until there is no going back. Others are named DS#1 Aisling (pronounced Ash-ling), DS#2 in Lucian Layne (after the former Alice in Chains singer), DD#3 is Teagan Vegas (because while 8 1/2 month preggers w/ her DH and I flew to Las Vegas to renew our wedding vows in my original wedding dress sitting atop of a convertable PT crusier in the drive thru chapel) & DS#4 is Breckin Steel (Breckin was the only name that came to my mind thru the whole pregnancy and DH agreed to it if he got Steel)

This little girl, had she been a boy, would have been named Cullen or Kellan; after the Twilight Saga. I have managed to derive a Twilight-esque name for her. Now I need to work out the spelling and the exact pronouncation of it by saying it over and over out loud where no one can hear me to get a feel for the natural flow of it. laugh out loud
Just name her BFShopgirl version 2.0.

That is what GJ called LJ after the glasses pic. Teehee

Good to know about the TSA website. Already checking it out. They did say that the water & formula must be mixed. Now that is clearly stupid because it is said that formula can sit mixed at room temp for 2 hours before bacteria can begin to grow. Sure you can keep it cold in a small cooler bag but then how would you warm it back up in the terminal? So you get to the airport 1.5 hours before your flight, you have approx 30 minutes to feed those bottles to your baby? Silly!
I am sure that this will be an unpopular sentiment - but I was told by a couple of different nurses that formula can last as long as 6 - 8 hours depending on the temperature (surrounding not temp of formula) --- you can use your nose to smell when formula has gone off. I don't think I have ever waited that length of time, but I have waited longer than 2 hours. My kiddos have been fine.

Of course, the most hygenic would prob be to buy the bottled water ... you could stop in a place like Starbucks and ask for a cup of hot water they use for tea AND buy a bottle of water and then mix the two to make it the correct warm temp that LJ likes. Sorry that it is so complicated -

Help

alright chatters, I'm in a conundrum. my DD who has never really asked to be anything at Halloween (allowing me free reign over costumes Teehee) has finally asked to be something this year. She wants to be a shark. She has even perfected her Jaws chomp but I cannot find a decent shark costume ANYWHERE outside of Ebay. I've missed a few auctions on ones in her size and some of the Pottery Barn ones are $80+ Bigeye I keep running across a big shark eating a person (not what she has in mind!!!) and a shark you wear around your middle but that's it. HELP!!!! I've Binged, Ebayed, Googled, urlhasbeenblocked, etc. just finding stores I wasn't familiar with and no cute shark costume in a 4-6x range for sizing.

HELP
I am in the same boat as you - my lil guy wants to be sonic and there is NOT a Sonic costume to be had!! If you have a local zoo do they have shark masks? My local zoo has shark masks where the kiddo looks out the open toothy jaws ... you could put that with the grey sweats that others mentioned. Ummm - let me think -- I am so sorry! I feel your pain!

Every time DS sees your avi he says "Hey Mom, look at that cute little bear". He loves for me to scroll through so he can see the avis and the "little guys" - which is what he calls the smileys!
Awwww - what a cutie! He does look so much more grown up than his swimming pic for sure!! How old is he now? He is such a CUTE guy!

Welllll, while as a parent I'm happy that the boy is okay (for the first 45 minutes or so after the story broke, I wasn't too optimistic...especially when they had found the balloon WITHOUT the box under it)....

Gotta say, it seems kinda disingenuous for a purely experimental balloon thingamabob like that---which the family claims was never intended to carry a passenger---would have an attachment which could be used to, well, carry a passenger.

Somebody needs to kick in a little dough to the state for all of the money spent on helicopters and ground personnel used during the tracking.

I bet their fellow Coloradan taxpayers are thrilled beyond belief!
Yeah - well you would think if one is smart enough to make a neat little flying UFO and experiment with science stuff that one would be smart enough NOT to put a 6 year old on TV and expect them to be able to lie well! Just say something like "Oh with all the trauma we aren't going to put him the spotlight we thank everyone for all they have done - but this is just too much for our poor little guy" or something like that ... then the comment about doing it for the show would never have been made and they would have gotten off scott free! WHAT MORONS!!! The whole thing is despicable but if you're gonna be a sleaze at least be a smart one!

duck? DUCK? I think some new (KU) flashcards are in order! (But that is really cute!)
LOL I know that isn't right - I did tell her hawk but I don't think that she really knows what hawks are - I will have to show her the kitty one that IANAA posted LOL

Hey... what tyson coupons do you need and krusteaz (sp)? Cookie or muffins? Smilie
I was looking for the $1.50 Tyson anytizers coupon and the both of the Krusteaz coupons - are those ones that you have access to?

Nicole
Awww - I would rescue kitties too if I could! I bet you give them great homes! LOL about the little doggy you want .. I LOVE big dogs! My fav are Great Pyrenees or Newfoundlands (who are REALLY like giant teddy bears) but those are not very common and they eat A LOT!

I need some creative help for DS #4's halloween costume. MIL got him a Scooby-doo costume sized 3t-4t...keep in mind that he is only 2, well almost 3 but still! I didnt fit, He was very disappointed but is now willing to be Shaggy.

We went to W and got him a green Tee and brown pants, his sister has this cool triple decker plastic hamburger from her kitchen stuff that I'll have him carry and draw a goatee on him w/ sharpie or something. Now my prob is how to make him easily recognizable. Do I have him carry 1) a tiny Scooby doll too, 2) the Scooby head backpack as the treat bag, or 3) sew my all black Great Dane and brown Tee w/ blue collar and b ring him along.

#3) is the hardest as we go to the local outlet mall to TorT, I'd have to shop for and sew the dog outfit, AND on top of having a newborn baby girl we will have to leash the dog = full hands all over!

I'm leaning towards #2 but it is the least creative...anyone have any other suggestions?
Buy him a box of Scooby Snacks to carry? Dontknow

The q's or the gummies? The Target Q was a printable awhile back and I think it's gone and the mq has no prints available either, sorry.

The patio covers are 50% off...kind of crammed into a little seasonal section in home improvement. Now to find the big set I bought so I can return on an old receipt!

Some one just suggested this on the SF thread also. I think it is PERFECT!!!! ThanQ ThanQ ThanQ ! I think I'm going to get him a box of the Scooby graham crakers bites for humans and turn the box into his treat bag by adding some handles. He'll carry his goody box of Scooby snacks and the Triple decker cheeseburger and everyone will totally know who he is!

Comfort That sucks! But I'm going to be honest and say we didn't even try to do the isolation thing when DS was sick (even let him sleep on the couch while younger DS sat next to him), and no one else got sick. So it's not a given that your DD will get it too. One thing we did do was write their names on their water bottles and juice boxes so there was no mix up there.
Hope your son feels better. Did they prescribe Tamiflu? I'm telling you, that stuff seemed to kick in instantly!

Happybday Barb! Grouphug
My dd had h1n1 last week. took tamiflu suspension and is alright. my ds came down with cough and was negative. they will not give him tamiflu unless he test positive due to shortage. Just let time take its course and let him get rest/fluids. I am sure it may not really be h1n1 but just a type of strain A. I would want a tamiflu rx if it is within 48 hours of symptoms or else would not work. Also made sure the kiddos got their flu shots. I am getting my flu shot tomorrow (at target of courselaugh out loud)

HR never called me back... Annoyed They better call me next week (and early in the week!).

I thought this was too funny...I called my lil sis and told her what happened (she has a co-worker that is the cousin of the psycho one that flipped out on me yesterday) and she tells me that the cousin is crazy like that too!! It must run in the family...and what a small world, huh? I work at a college and my sis works with the school district and we each have co-workers from the same family. Nuts, I tell you.

Oh, and the staff meeting today where the supervisor assured me yesterday that she would talk about the situation - she never did. Talked about two unrelated things and then that's it. shake head

Allow HR to contact you by next week, if you hear nothing, contact the head of HR or the head supervisior of your company. I understand your predictiment and they have to move you out of a department or at least consider changes... not in your communication skills!!! People errr... What kind of business do you work in? Many times alot of companies try to appear perfect and then do not want to lose all their employees so leave many issues unresolved thus losing employees. HUGS!!

ANK...

I cannot find your original post... but my thoughts and prayers are with your family to get over such a great loss!!

I hope your DD feels better. HUGS!!
Thanks, MC. Yeah, I just have to be patient. I work with college students (student services). I've heard it is very hard to get fired from where I work at. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) HR is just lousy...

Thrifty I feel for ya. I remember traveling from Alaska to S. Carolina with small ones shake head
The first time, we had to have an oxygen tank 'just in case' for DS. And where do you think they put it? on the floor in front of our chairs...so we sat for 9 hours with our knees in our chins. Then of course was the time DD discovered the F word and decided to say it multiple times on the airplane Embarrassment
