This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

No time to post tonight, but I had to share my new steamcleaner!

I didn't get the Bissell. They didnt have one, and I wasn't driving 2 hours away to get one...

So I got this : http://www.hoover.com/product.asp...0&ds=false

OMG I had to test it out when I got home. I LOVE this freaking thing! It was $400, but OMG it will so pay for itself. It's like the cadillac of carpet cleaners.
Glad you like your new steam cleaner!! I wish I had carpeting but then I don't... we have all hardwood... Have fun cleaning your carpet!!

hmm... never thought of that - of course, I rarely have stacks of inserts because I can't make myself buy multiple papers at the $2.00 price tag! Haven't found a good free source. Frown

I just tried reading to catch-up but even after just 2 days there is just plain TOO much! You CCer's need to slow down! LOL

Ank- Hope you are hanging in! When you get a strange unidentified envie with a bunch of Q's I hope you can find a good use for them hug
I know what you mean about trying to catch up. Sometimes, it's just easier to skip ahead and hope you get a clue.

And thank you for sending me an envie. It is so sweet of you to do. I can't even begin to tell you how much the generosity of you and other SD'ers has blessed our family. It really helps to not feel panicky!

Thanks for the good luck wishes!! Here's hoping I at least sell enough to get rid of all the bags in my living room. laugh out loud

I *love* using the electric scissors that Target had clearanced out last year. If you ever see them, grab them. They are a little on the noisy side, but they cut through coupons like butter. So much easier than scissors!
Hope your gs is/was a success.

and where have I been??? Electric scissors??? Wow.

Okay... weather is clear tomorrow supposedly, so DH and I are going to set up at the flea market. I am taking the baby clothes. *sob* That probably means I'll get pregnant soon... lol. So I guess I shouldn't sob too much! We're Pray that we get enough to either pay off DH's doc bill (doc won't see him until it's paid in full - and it's less than 30 days old!), or to fix the heat in the car. We've had a few chilly mornings/nights and it is going to be rough without heat - just for seeing! We also have to get whatever is going on with the whole revving/stalling thing figured out. If it were me, I'd take almost everything we own and sell it. There's little that couldn't be re-bought!

I'm so tired of things not quite fixed, bills not totally paid, and one stupid little unexpected expense after another. I swear, if I didn't coupon - we'd be so broke and bankrupt. I don't know how I'd feed us without literally eating rice and beans for every meal (and that would almost kill hubby with his health issues!) We literally count every penny - to the point that I regularly look for coins all over the house and put them in a coin bank to cash in once a month. You'd be amazed at how much drops out of pockets in the wash, couch, etc...

But, I doubt I'm telling anything new to most of ya'll! If you aren't in a similar situation now, I'm sure you were at some point!

ETA: Does anyone know how long the Hefty One Zip will be $1?

Hey

For those of you that got Kodak codes from me, hold on to them. It appears they aren't activated yet. I have emailed Kodak to find out the issue, but don't throw them away!
I can't PM everyone so figured this would be the quickest way. I'll post back when they tell me when we can use them.

I'm thinking since the houseparty isn't until next week, they aren't activated? Pretty darn smart Qs if that's the case.

*Electric* scissors?!? Where have I been? I've never even heard of those (but will do some research!). I loathe cutting out my coupons and actually have inserts galore that I keep piling up just because I don't want to cut them! laugh out loud If the electric scissors can make my life easier, I'm all for it! I have a paper cutter and it works great, but I get so tired of lining up the inserts (and my two papers never have the same exact inserts - coupons are usually in different spots!) and bringing down the arm and then lifting up the arm. (Can you tell I hate cutting out coupons?!? Coverlaugh)
I just saw these again tonight at Target! They are Black & Decker, on an endcap, and are 19.99 (I think?). DIdn't see the cool pink ones that I have, but watch for them to be clearanced. I got my pair at 75% off. They plug in to charge, and then you use them. No batteries, which is nice.

The Black & Decker ones are rechargeable. They were this but in pretty colors like blue and pink

Says discontinued. Now I'm really kicking myself. I think they were $4..xx a pair?
Probably just those colors are discontinued.

Here's hoping we both have great and profitable sales tomorrow!! Its gonna be a COLD morning, but beautiful weather, so hopefully lots of people will be out looking!!

I forgot to say - I think the Hefty TPC ends 11/14.

I am ashamed to say I never even thought of that! And I won't tell you how long I spent sitting on my arse cutting inserts yesterday either. Stick Out Tongue

For those looking for good scissors you may want to go to Michael's or Jo-Ann's and grab some Fiskars. They are sharp suckers!

Oh, you have one of those PIA T's that won't input Qs manually? That, my dear, bites the big one. nod

Staples coupons - you can beg on the Staples thread in the coupons forum or you can buy a $ off one on http://www.e-junkie.com/shop/product/310167.php

They come to your email instantly. I think I paid $2 for the last one and saved $25 on my order.

I haven't seen anyone mention any other coupons..? Confused But you could do a search pretty quickly on Ebay to see if there are any $.50 or $1 that could be used on another one of the Secrets.. I'm not sure what came out in the insert.
My insert had $1/2 coupons right under the B2G1. Regional I guess but you can certainly double up on those.

I would LOVE to find those Zhu Zhu things for dd but I have never seen them in stores here.
There are swarms of them in every Toys R Us I go into around here. Granted, they are limited per person, but there doesn't seem to be a shortage at TRU. Did you try there?

She is a sweetie. I'm really a cat person (shhh) but she has won me over. DH brought her home and if we both call her she comes to me. Goes up his butt a mile. LMAO

Has anyone seen Kernel Seasons at T? There is a rebate for the Up DVD and those. Thx!

ETA: best wishes to all those looking for jobs, caring for sick kiddos, and dealing with meanies who can't spell. LMAO

Psst, in addition to whimseys recommendation, you could also try an Office Depot/ OfficeMax coupon. I was initially told here that they don't accept competitor coupons, someone from corp called the store and said yes they do. nod I use a lot of the $10/$40 or $10/$50 and sometimes there are $15/$75 coupons. Something to fall back on if you can't get the $25 coupon in time.

4BB - does your dad ever recommend just using a bleach water mixture on carpet? I am positive that my Mohawk carpet recommends a bleach/water mixture as part of the warranty and that is what I use in my steam cleaner as well - works awesomely and leaves no soap residue. Just wondering what a flooring expert thinks about that? GT6, obviously I agree about the not using soap thing - I believe the residue attracts dirt also.
I'll have to ask him but in my years of working there I heard all sorts of things. Lots of people swore by peroxide and white vinegar. Im not sure if bleach would break down the fiber and void your warranty, but if they say use it...then I certainly would. Carpets are made from so many different fibers. Most berbers Ive seen are made from Olefin, which is pretty much recycled plastic, so its pretty tough stuff.

Anything with detergent will most likely clean your carpet, but will also attract dirt in the long run. My living room is a high traffic area so I clean it often but without detergent.
