Target Chit Chat

5,198 1,334 July 25, 2007 at 02:54 PM in Chat
This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Ank, it's not as good as T (using GCs), but you might keep checking on the front page of deals (click on your name at the top of this page and it will take you there. I didn't know this for the longest time. Stupid me...) I've found some great deals that way. Also, go to pricegrabber.com and check them out for the DSL modem. You may find a great deal that way too.
Oh - thanks for the idea! Smilie

Um... anyone know of a way to get Sharpie out of couch fabric?
Try rubbing alcohol. I have used it on my couch for pen and marker 'drawings'.

Have you tried Magic Eraser? As a last resort, acetone nail polish. It got Sharpie and dark purple polish out of the carpet. Lots of rubbing though.

Thanks...

I tried magic eraser and it helped, but didn't completely take it out. ARGH!!! (I love my toddler, I love my toddler, I love my toddler, I love my toddler....)

Going to add nail polish remover to the shopping list. *sigh*

Oh and another LOLLIES...I was watching Fox Business and they were showing Bernie Madoff's boats that are going to be auctioned off. As they camera man pans around the cabin I spy a GLADE scented oil warmer on the wall. Roll I mean really, you could have picked a Wallflower or something "higher class" than Gla-day. Laugh
Maybe that's how he continued his scam for so long? Gla-day has been known to be a profitable business Roll

Funny - a girlfried just pulled this product out of her purse yesterday at a Baby shower (with a 1/4 piece of magic eraser - cut up. I guess conserving??).

I found this info from the Sharpie website:

Also try AMODEX STAIN REMOVER for permanent ink: Amodex Products, P.O. Box 3332, Bridgeport, CT 06605, PhoneFrown203) 335-1255 or go to www.amodexink.com

My friend said she bought it at a local office supply store, OfficeMax or Office Depot and claimed it worked great on her couch.

Got bad news this morning that my Dad had to be sent via ambulance to the hospital. They think it might be a stroke or his cancer has spread to the brain. He's been battling colon/liver cancer for the last year. My sister is on her way now and I'm tying up loose ends around here so I can leave tomorrow. I'm going to leave DH and the kids here so I can focus on what we need to do with Dad and then I'll decide of we're all going to go back at Thanksgiving. I guess I should be thankful that DH has 1 more week of paternity leave scheduled. Ugh. This sucks.

If anyone knows anything about benefits thorugh the VA for long-term care can you PM me. I don't even know where to begin with all this.

I have just been sucked into reading this thread...I am usually on the shutterfly thread...but, if you let me know the state and county where you father lives, I might be able to find out some information for you. Ariel can vouch for me that I am not a stalker or a wierdo...I work at a non-profit in Iowa and have had some luck helping others out on the shutterfly chat thread. If you don't want to share this information with me, I understand...your best bet would be to contact the local VA office in the area that your father currently lives. Depending on your state, you might just be able to call 2-1-1 (just like 9-1-1) for information and referral. In Iowa, we have a state-wide data base that the 2-1-1 operator can access.
