RETIRED Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

228 92 October 16, 2010 at 01:35 PM
Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Congrats Jules. Lots of nice things coming your way.
Was thinking of you when the Packers didn't win. Maybe next year..

I guess he pampers you when he's feeling good, and he fills your tank.

You've got a lot going on in your life, so it's probably best to take some things slow and easy. There's nothing wrong with being independent.

Recently saw The Hobbit in 3D. I did a little jumping around, too. Love those free movie tickets.

Nice GC. The special wrapping had to make it even more special.

I think I read somewhere that 30% of the people getting the flu had gotten the flu shot.
We were and still are pretty sick. Sam is still out of work. He did not get the shot. Last week there were maybe 2 days that we had really high fevers, we were delirious and were not able to get up or take care of ourselves. We barely let the dogs out and took turns feeding them. Sometimes we coughed so hard that we could not catch our breath. He said that is how people our age can die from the flu. And I think we dehydrated. I only had the flu one other time in my life and he never had it. I have had pneumonia a few times but this was really bad. We went to the local store today for less than an hour total and both of us came home and slept for hours. All I do is sleep.

I was gonna mention that...On the FREE CASES DAILY site you can only ever win once.
So I should stop playing that.

I saw that on the news last night. The current flu shot is 62% effective (38% of people who get the shot will get the flu).

Another interesting statistic is that 64.8% of Americans do not get a flu shot.
I thought that number would be much lower.
I thought more people got it, too. Guess I'm not in the minority. I do know that the current year's flu shot is based on the strain of the previous year's flu, so it can't be totally accurate.

Is this flu respiratory, or in combination with stomach and intestinal issues?

I would, I really like the case I won from them. It is for our HP Touchpad and has a keyboard in it, very handy.

Everything. there was not one part of my body that was not affected. and everything ached. and then when we finally fell asleep one of us started coughing and woke the other one up. And it is scary as you gasp for air.

You know i thought my daughter gave it to me but it seemed like she left and i got it right away. i think it takes a little longer than that. I had gone to the dr office earlier that week to get my prescription filled and i very well could have gotten it there. i know what you mean.

It doesn't sound good at all. I sure hope both of you get out of this without complications. I'm going to have to read up on it a little. Drink broth and get lots of rest.
