I agree. Thanks to low cut jeans younger generations no longer have a defined waist or have what we considered a flat stomach even if they work out religiously. Yet, they continue to make them & pretty much nothing else. Sometimes, I think I must be the only person who thinks it's a bad look. Confused

In my experience, men aren't that much of a mystery. They just want us to think they are. laugh out loud Most men will say they prefer a girl w/o makeup. That usually translates to, "I already think you're beautiful, & don't want other men looking at you." How many times do you see women who look plain get 2nd looks? Now, how many times do you see women who dress nicely, wear at least some makeup, & style their hair turn heads? (As a side note, men & women have very different ideas of what styles look hot on a woman.) To attract a man's attention, you need to stand out from the casual, plain masses. The other option is to hang out in groups so a guy can really get to know you. In that case, the way one looks may not be as important. Unfortunately, men can't see your personality at first glance. You need to give them something they can see & find attractive.
I hate when men try to tell you what you need or dont need as far as makeup goes. laugh out loud

I secretly think that about 90% of people walking around in skinny low cut jeans look downright awful..but they dont seem to care laugh out loud

Physical attraction seems to have a lot more to do with our aura than our attire, that's why confidence plays such a big part in it. For me though, I'm much more comfortable when I think I look nice.

I don't have friends so my interaction with men is limited to work stuff and just everyday errands. That means if I see someone I'm interested in, one of us has to be super confident and say something because we might not ever cross paths again.

Have you tried online dating? I was very scared to do it initially, but finally worked up the nerve. I found a great guy in less then three months.

I haven't. I'm still kind of scared of it. I hate how I look in photos too. I rarely take one that I think people should see. laugh out loud

I keep saying I'll try it when I lose 10lbs. Do you mind telling which site you used? I browsed two of the free sites before and when I read some profiles I was blown away by their arrogance.

I agree. I used to be like that and trying to look for the guy. The time I gave up and just decided to meet people and have fun and experience life was when I met DBF. Best things happen when you aren't looking! nod
Yep I got that flyer on Dec 24! I posted about it back then in the coupon thread.

i have a friend who is engaged to someone she met online. she used okcupid

i have to say tho, be careful when you meet people online. meet in public places and let others kno who you're meeting and when. i had a different friend who used it for a year before quitting since everyone she met didnt live up to her expectation. each time she met someone tho, she'd link the pic or tell us a name plus she'd leave a note to say where and when just in case

Hm...those cake pops sound questionable. I only eat cake pops if they're cold...which means it's been refrigerated. Yuck on the no fridge!

Ha - ! Yeah, she finally admitted to being stressed. I told her to let go of the baking of the brownies and just do what you suggested. But she responded to all and then she told us what she wanted us to do exactly and what ingredients to put in. I guess these from scratch brownies are going to be microwaved, not baked, which makes it more questionable to me. :cra zy: I told her yes for now, but may bail if I have other commitments.

Hm...about those target dresses, she said no. : (

Yah, she said no to those Target dresses again.

I guess she really liked the VS dress I sent her, but her slow butt made it so that there's only M left. Oh well. I showed her some ASOS dresses, maybe she will pick one. That lace dress you liked that I linked some time ago - looks great on her, but is casual really really short. Like mid thigh short/butt grazing short. She probably won't use that. I wouldn't wear it after for anything vomit There's a Macy's lace dress [macys.com] she's thinking about and I like it. Pray she picks one.

So glad your bride picked her dress quick! Whee

Yes, if you don't mind sending me those wedding songs along, I can pass it to her. That will probably help her. She did get a DJ. I guess he didn't provide her with a list. She's got a blank spreadsheet with stuff like "bridal party entrance" "bouquet tossing song." She hired a harpist - I don't see why the harpist can't come up with some ceremony songs?! Confused I've done all I can because I don't see why I should research songs for her which is HER job. Plus, my taste is so different from hers and I'm not giving my songs away! laugh out loud So I declined to even put in any special requests. Maybe some uptempo requests I will request. I did send her your makeup/hair recs that you sent me a while ago. nod

Nope, no brownies going in a bag. I guess the ingredients (cocoa, flour, etc) will be put in order in a mug and heated in a microwave. I can't imagine doing 100-150 of those :m ad: She even said that they don't taste like they should and she's tweaking the recipe. That sounds dangerous. I just think microwaving something will definitely be different than baking something. All the molecules in the food react differently. OH well. I feel for the sucker who may be eating my creations. Crap like that never turns out well when I do it. I am a box mix kinda girl. I never do cake, and stuff from scratch well. I try though. I've make pumpkin pie from scratch like 7 times already and the dough and insides are STILL inconsistent and questionable :sha ke:
i'll email you the list from my dj when i get a chance. songs don't really need to be picked anytime soon tho - we sent our dj our song list about a week before the wedding. laugh out loud

the brownies are a disaster waiting to happen. fwiw i went through a brownie baking period where i was experimenting with different recipes. none ended up that good - my favorites are still box mixes. i think it depends on the type of cocoa you use, but i'm not about to buy a bunch of different cocoas to try. (i think when i was trying stuff i used hershey and trader joe's and preferred the trader joe's, if that helps) good luck with that one... that sounds like a stupid favor imho.
also, different microwaves have different wattage.... and things cook differently depending on that.

Sure! Thanks! Don't worry about it! She told me the DJ told her he needed a list of songs by 1/19 Crazy Good ones can throw something together 2 days before. I'm interested in seeing how good this DJ is......

I have no hope for the brownies - they are a lost cause. She said we should try making it ourselves, but it's going to taste like flour and not very good. Crazy

i think it'd be better if she just includes some hot cocoa powder inside the mug. she can still make it herself and it makes a lot more sense to me...

i sent you the pdf. we asked our dj for a list of songs - he didn't provide it to us until we asked.

I used Match. I googled and found a 20% off code and signed up for 3 months cause 1 month was way too expensive when you compared it to what three months cost. You can actually sign up for free and look at profiles and "wink" at people. But you can't email them or read your emails without a paid subscription.

There are way more guys on the website then there are girls so I never even had to make first contact. They always contacted me first.

Just try to watch out for spammers. If their location doesn't match up to the area you are in or the photos look fake, I automatically ignored them.

I turned off IM because I didn't like being contacted while I was looking at photos. I also put a message at the bottom of my profile saying that I'm shy and not much of a talker, please send me an email that says more then just hi. Cause if you talk less then me then it's going to be a really silent relationship. Guys still would just send an email that just said "hi" so I ignored those too.

I always met them a public places like TGIF or 5 guys. I drove my own car there.

I hate how I look in photos too. Maybe try googling "how to look good in pictures" and look for tips. I just wouldn't photo edit them (other then cropping and red eye) because people don't really like it when they meet someone and they don't look at all like they did in their profile pics.

Thank you! There's so much to consider!

I'm happy she decided to get a makeup artist. So I don't have to worry about doing my own makeup and hair the day of and be expected to run around like a coordinator. She's contacting the two you gave me Elanie Chou and Joyce Luck Style. Would be surprised if they are free this close out, but Pray they are.

Those brownies sound like a disaster in the making. Maybe she knows something we don't, & they'll turn out fabulously.

Hopefully, the bride will go with that dress. It doesn't look like a BM dress, so you could wear it again.

If you don't want to wear the same jeans all the time, you don't really have much of a choice other than to buy some low cut skinny jeans or leggings. They're dominating the fashion scent at the moment. I hope that trend disappears from Express & other stores I shop at soon. I would love to see more straight leg & boot cut jeans added.

I feel your pain with photos. Comfort I hate having my picture taken too. They say a tv camera adds 10 lbs. A regular camera adds at least that many lbs. to me, especially in my face & neck. We were looking at pics my sister had framed for me for Christmas. One of them was a picture of my sisters & I. My DS said, "Wow, Mom you were fat, when that picture was taken." Chairbash It was only a few months ago & I was the same size I am now. Ermm In his defense, a lot of people tell me I look heavier in pics. They just don't usually come right out & say I look fat. laugh out loud Like teenbean, I've seen others suggest looking for info on how to take good pics. That may help you. I think I'm hopeless. Good luck, if you decide to go the online route. hug

I was thinking she should bag up the ingredients for the brownie to allow the guests to mix it together & make a fresh brownie, when they want it. That seems preferable to a potentially stale brownie. If it isn't good, maybe they'll think it's something they did wrong. laugh out loud
