I keep saying I'll try it when I lose 10lbs. Do you mind telling which site you used? I browsed two of the free sites before and when I read some profiles I was blown away by their arrogance.
I like her ok. Like wolfie said, her songs are catchy.
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of the BM duty. Also thanks for the HU on the VS tote.
I'm happy she decided to get a makeup artist. So I don't have to worry about doing my own makeup and hair the day of and be expected to run around like a coordinator. She's contacting the two you gave me Elanie Chou and Joyce Luck Style. Would be surprised if they are free this close out, but they are.
also, i agree with GH. that macy's dress looks very promising. hopefully it works out!
Hopefully, the bride will go with that dress. It doesn't look like a BM dress, so you could wear it again.
...
I was thinking she should bag up the ingredients for the brownie to allow the guests to mix it together & make a fresh brownie, when they want it. That seems preferable to a potentially stale brownie. If it isn't good, maybe they'll think it's something they did wrong.
i thought about bagging up the ingredients also (i was going to suggest that), but i think ppl will be less likely to make it that way. although if it's in a microwave they might be more inclined. i think either way (bagged brownie mix or hot cocoa mix) is better than baking it yourself.
btw, the target+NM stuff now have a 1/15 return date on the items. unfortunately on my invoice it still says 1/5. it's ok tho - i think i'm keeping the luggage. it's just so cute. it's currently holding a bunch of my VS gwp's.

What do you have to purchase to get the tote?
If you don't want to wear the same jeans all the time, you don't really have much of a choice other than to buy some low cut skinny jeans or leggings. They're dominating the fashion scent at the moment. I hope that trend disappears from Express & other stores I shop at soon. I would love to see more straight leg & boot cut jeans added.
I feel your pain with photos. I hate having my picture taken too. They say a tv camera adds 10 lbs. A regular camera adds at least that many lbs. to me, especially in my face & neck. We were looking at pics my sister had framed for me for Christmas. One of them was a picture of my sisters & I. My DS said, "Wow, Mom you were fat, when that picture was taken." It was only a few months ago & I was the same size I am now. In his defense, a lot of people tell me I look heavier in pics. They just don't usually come right out & say I look fat. Like teenbean, I've seen others suggest looking for info on how to take good pics. That may help you. I think I'm hopeless. Good luck, if you decide to go the online route.
I've had that happen a few times with Amazon.

I don't think she wants the Macy's dress anymore. I think her back up is this ugly tea length dress that she's really fond of unless we find something. Plus we have to get it hemmed if she wants that one.
Good idea on the brownies, but at this point, I doubt she is taking any suggestions. Unless she asks. As she said, it's her wedding. When I show up to help, I'll have to leave early

Those microwave brownies do not sound appetizing.

Thanks! I need all the luck I can get with bridezilla!

i'd be surprised if joyce was available as she's very popular. elaine may be tho. all i know is, when i inquired 6 months prior to my date, joyce was already booked but elaine was not.

they really do sound like a disaster. and with these types of favors, the freakout after the disaster will occur the week of the wedding... definitely not good. i used food as favors, but not baked goods (even tho i like to bake) bc that just requires so much more.

I get that she wants to probably give something that represents her, but being unrealistic is just dumb. Why spend all the time and resources on guests when you can spent it on yourself. Good call about the freak out the week of the wedding. I didn't even think about that. I would hope that when it's my turn, I won't be so cocky and BMs aren't scared to say realistic kinds of things.
Again, thanks for the song list. She actually said thanks to me and was most the most appreciative about that.
Glad you got that luggage you wanted and sounds like a keeper!!

do the brownies in mugs represent her? to each her own...
i think you should be ok with any makeup artist - just know exactly what you want and don't be scared to complain if they mess it up. if you direct them you should be ok.

I know she likes to cook and bake but I've never had her creations before. So that's why I think brownie in a mug is her idea of self representation

It's too bad about the dress.
It is her wedding. Smart brides are always willing to take suggestions & constructive criticism though. It's hard to think of everything, & others advice/suggestions can help make the wedding better. I have to admit it grates on my nerves, when the bride throws out the "It's my wedding" card. It sounds so immature to me. Everyone knows whose wedding it is. It's easy enough to thank someone for the suggestion, then do what you want.
Thanks

And be sure to bring your own makeup along in case of an emergency. You could privately redo it, if you don't like how they fixed it.
oh btw i did a quick google search and came upon this [my3cents.com] complaint thread. i guess it does happen often. in retrospect, i've had rice that grew little grain beetles in it eventually. your description of worms made it sound really disgusting tho, and i haven't experienced it in cereal yet (knock on wood).
i've heard to throw flour in the freezer overnight when you first purchase it to kill off any of those pesky things that like to live in that. that way, they won't get a chance to multiply if they're in there.

I store flour, meal, sugar, etc. in the fridge. I've seen people get weevils in flour & meal. By keeping everything in the fridge, I don't have to worry about that.

i'm not sure if temperatures in the fridge are cold enough to kill those things, but i'm sure it makes it harder for them to grow. i like the freezer overnight idea - it makes sense to me. i do like to store a lot of things in the fridge, but i don't store everything.
