I've been so busy, I haven't been on in a while, but finally caught up.

Quote from Cheapeats :
I haven't. I'm still kind of scared of it. I hate how I look in photos too. I rarely take one that I think people should see. laugh out loud

I keep saying I'll try it when I lose 10lbs. Do you mind telling which site you used? I browsed two of the free sites before and when I read some profiles I was blown away by their arrogance.
It sounds like a terrible idea, but I like going to a bar by myself to meet people. I've met a lot of interesting people this way. It's easy to interact with people one-on-one or join in with groups of people. This works best at a quieter place like an Irish pub or dive bar, where people are just hanging out and not dancing and looking for hook-ups. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt and just be yourself and you will definitely get attention from guys. If you don't like someone, you can always leave or sit somewhere else. I've made lasting friendships that resulted from excusing myself from a creeper and introducing myself to a group of strangers.

Yup, working now. Smilie Did not know she dated so many guys. And the worst part for those guys is, she writes everything into her songs. laugh out loud
I like her ok. Like wolfie said, her songs are catchy.

Nope, no brownies going in a bag. I guess the ingredients (cocoa, flour, etc) will be put in order in a mug and heated in a microwave. I can't imagine doing 100-150 of those Mad She even said that they don't taste like they should and she's tweaking the recipe. That sounds dangerous. I just think microwaving something will definitely be different than baking something. All the molecules in the food react differently. OH well. I feel for the sucker who may be eating my creations. Crap like that never turns out well when I do it. I am a box mix kinda girl. I never do cake, and stuff from scratch well. I try though. I've make pumpkin pie from scratch like 7 times already and the dough and insides are STILL inconsistent and questionable shake head
Those microwave brownies do not sound appetizing. EEK!
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of the BM duty. hug Also thanks for the HU on the VS tote.

Thank you! There's so much to consider!

I'm happy she decided to get a makeup artist. So I don't have to worry about doing my own makeup and hair the day of and be expected to run around like a coordinator. She's contacting the two you gave me Elanie Chou and Joyce Luck Style. Would be surprised if they are free this close out, but Pray they are.
i'd be surprised if joyce was available as she's very popular. elaine may be tho. all i know is, when i inquired 6 months prior to my date, joyce was already booked but elaine was not.

also, i agree with GH. that macy's dress looks very promising. hopefully it works out!
Quote from GoHeels :
Those brownies sound like a disaster in the making. Maybe she knows something we don't, & they'll turn out fabulously.

Hopefully, the bride will go with that dress. It doesn't look like a BM dress, so you could wear it again.
...
I was thinking she should bag up the ingredients for the brownie to allow the guests to mix it together & make a fresh brownie, when they want it. That seems preferable to a potentially stale brownie. If it isn't good, maybe they'll think it's something they did wrong. laugh out loud
they really do sound like a disaster. and with these types of favors, the freakout after the disaster will occur the week of the wedding... definitely not good. i used food as favors, but not baked goods (even tho i like to bake) bc that just requires so much more.

i thought about bagging up the ingredients also (i was going to suggest that), but i think ppl will be less likely to make it that way. although if it's in a microwave they might be more inclined. i think either way (bagged brownie mix or hot cocoa mix) is better than baking it yourself.

btw, the target+NM stuff now have a 1/15 return date on the items. unfortunately on my invoice it still says 1/5. it's ok tho - i think i'm keeping the luggage. heart it's just so cute. it's currently holding a bunch of my VS gwp's. laugh out loud

What do you have to purchase to get the tote?

If you don't want to wear the same jeans all the time, you don't really have much of a choice other than to buy some low cut skinny jeans or leggings. They're dominating the fashion scent at the moment. I hope that trend disappears from Express & other stores I shop at soon. I would love to see more straight leg & boot cut jeans added.

I feel your pain with photos. Comfort I hate having my picture taken too. They say a tv camera adds 10 lbs. A regular camera adds at least that many lbs. to me, especially in my face & neck. We were looking at pics my sister had framed for me for Christmas. One of them was a picture of my sisters & I. My DS said, "Wow, Mom you were fat, when that picture was taken." Chairbash It was only a few months ago & I was the same size I am now. Ermm In his defense, a lot of people tell me I look heavier in pics. They just don't usually come right out & say I look fat. laugh out loud Like teenbean, I've seen others suggest looking for info on how to take good pics. That may help you. I think I'm hopeless. Good luck, if you decide to go the online route. hug

I've had that happen a few times with Amazon.

Tote is with $75 purchase.

I don't think she wants the Macy's dress anymore. I think her back up is this ugly tea length dress that she's really fond of unless we find something. Plus we have to get it hemmed if she wants that one.

Good idea on the brownies, but at this point, I doubt she is taking any suggestions. Unless she asks. As she said, it's her wedding. When I show up to help, I'll have to leave early nod

Yep. Her music is catchy, but all the rest makes me shudder. I'm not saying I like Miley because I don't but at least she's not going around.

Thanks! I need all the luck I can get with bridezilla!

I'll take any makeup artist at this point! Maybe I can trail run my future hair! She's even said she contacted some artists on Facebook and they all have very glittery makeup. But they're cheap. Hide

I get that she wants to probably give something that represents her, but being unrealistic is just dumb. Why spend all the time and resources on guests when you can spent it on yourself. Good call about the freak out the week of the wedding. I didn't even think about that. I would hope that when it's my turn, I won't be so cocky and BMs aren't scared to say realistic kinds of things.

Again, thanks for the song list. She actually said thanks to me and was most the most appreciative about that.

Glad you got that luggage you wanted and sounds like a keeper!!

laugh out loud good luck... i'm glad she's at least showing some appreciation! i know song-choosing is not fun - it took me a LONG time and i changed my mind many times. i actually met with some dj's that had longer lists... but that just gets a little overwhelming. hopefully our dj's list is concise enough to help her out a bit - even if she doesn't choose from it, i think it does a good job showing sample songs to use. i'm surprised her dj didn't have one - most should.

do the brownies in mugs represent her? Dontknow to each her own...

i think you should be ok with any makeup artist - just know exactly what you want and don't be scared to complain if they mess it up. if you direct them you should be ok. Smilie

Thanks for the MUA heads up! Good to know we can direct. I figured they know what they are doing and we're not supposed to "upstage" her. We're supposed to pay for our hair and she will cover makeup if she does Elanie or Joyce luck.

I know she likes to cook and bake but I've never had her creations before. So that's why I think brownie in a mug is her idea of self representation

e*bates just sent me an email & they had deducted cash back on 4 Express orders. I haven't returned anything to Express in awhile. How far back do they go? This happens often, & I don't question it. I decided to email them about it this time, since I know it's been since Nov. at least since I returned anything. Normally, I think I may have returned something, so I just let it go.

It's too bad about the dress. shake head

It is her wedding. Smart brides are always willing to take suggestions & constructive criticism though. It's hard to think of everything, & others advice/suggestions can help make the wedding better. I have to admit it grates on my nerves, when the bride throws out the "It's my wedding" card. It sounds so immature to me. Everyone knows whose wedding it is. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) It's easy enough to thank someone for the suggestion, then do what you want.

And be sure to bring your own makeup along in case of an emergency. You could privately redo it, if you don't like how they fixed it.

very good point about bringing your own stuff. bulb and you're right - the "it's my wedding" card is irritating bc it's unnecessary. i guess i am more used to ppl who want to please everyone involved, rather than only themselves.

oh btw i did a quick google search and came upon this [my3cents.com] complaint thread. i guess it does happen often. in retrospect, i've had rice that grew little grain beetles in it eventually. your description of worms made it sound really disgusting tho, and i haven't experienced it in cereal yet (knock on wood).

i've heard to throw flour in the freezer overnight when you first purchase it to kill off any of those pesky things that like to live in that. that way, they won't get a chance to multiply if they're in there.

laugh out loud That person is from my area, but it was a long time ago. I just looked it up & it appears they're flour moth larvae. http://www.swagbucks.com/?t=i&p=1...th+larvae+ They look like skinny maggots. Not a pleasant sight in food.

I store flour, meal, sugar, etc. in the fridge. I've seen people get weevils in flour & meal. By keeping everything in the fridge, I don't have to worry about that.

i'll bet you guys have more problems in your area due to the heat + humidity most of the year.

i'm not sure if temperatures in the fridge are cold enough to kill those things, but i'm sure it makes it harder for them to grow. i like the freezer overnight idea - it makes sense to me. i do like to store a lot of things in the fridge, but i don't store everything.
