Obviously I missed a busy day, I have quote notifications to posts that don't exist anymore :l ol: Oh well. Hope everyone is ok in here.

Went shopping today - supposed to have SIL watch DD so hubby and I could go out tonight but we were taking DD with us shopping anyhow. She called when I was at the mall and was sick - boo! We drove over an hour out there. Second time our night out has been cancelled in 3 months - gotta love being parents. I KNEW there was a reason I waited on the hotel!

We are having a nice steak and potato dinner now that DD is in bed though - excited about that : )

We were gun & ammo shopping today - it is INSANE. over 150 people in the firearms and ammo department at Cabelas - OMG! Made hubby ALMOST happy to deal with the Coach store haha! Got a checkbook cover and necklace at Coach in the mall, got a fab black wool and cashmere scarf on clearance at the Coach outlet for $28! Also bought a ton of clothes for DD from Carters outlet (on clearance only, their outlet prices are still ridiculous.) and got the hubby some ammo. Never made it to Sephora though.
Sorry your date night didn't work out. At least, you got some great stuff. woot I'm glad you were able to salvage the evening with a nice dinner.

Oh yeah... Now that DBF has accepted his child is a girl and not a boy like the doctor first guessed prematurely, he's been he$$ bent in spoiling her! He grumbles when I tell him I need this or that, but when I'm not paying attention, he buys krap for his daughter at full price at freaking places like Ralph Lauren and even Carter! I'm like, she's being born in February, only two months of winter, she REALLY does not need 5 flipping winter coats!!

Dillard, on NY had their extra 50% off sale and I bought a ton of RL stuff for her for like $9 a piece.... Same exact ones he saw on 'sale' at RL.com for like $30+

I swear.. He drives me mad cause he's definitely not a SDer! lol

I can't wait to start shopping for me again! I only gained 22lbs this whole pregnancy, but that's a lot for my height and frame, as I was a size 0 pre pregnancy... So we shall see what size I will be afterwards. lol
Daddies do like to spoil their girls. It sounds like your DBF is going to be a great one. Smilie

After the baby is born, you'll have to jump on the Express bandwagon with the rest of us. Big Grin

it's fun going back to your regular clothes... like, "hello, old friends!"
Or she could be like me & never get back into her regular clothes. Facepalm I wouldn't want to be as slim as I was pre-pregnancy now anyway. It would have been nice to drop most of it as quickly as you did though.

I got the cheap peplum in black, s. traded one of the $5 tees. : )
Good idea.bounce I should do that too. I have a lot of the rolled sleeve tops with tags on them.

Where are you going to buy your bras or do you already have enough? I need more, but keep putting if off. VS prices keep going up. The SAS bras in my size were all embellished. Those are pretty, but they aren't practical. I already have quite a few that show under most tops. I'm mostly going to buy plain, single color bras from now on.

I have more than enough. My collection is not as large as the other ladies here, but I think it's still large because my sisters OMG at them. I used to be crazier about bras. Glad I'm over that one. Need to work on other addiction.

Ladies - I have to share this super awesome and super easy potato recipe. I make this with my steaks, you can boil the potatoes ahead of time and keep them in the fridge. I use garlic or onion powder instead of rosemary and be sure to be generous with the salt! They are DELICIOUS. We serve them with a little sour cream on the side. Make sure you let the tops get nice and dark golden crisp - that is what makes all the difference!!

We always have a backup plan - I already had warned DH that if DD was terribly upset when we were there I wasn't going to leave her there. It worked out well and we had a great day shopping Smilie

peplum top in S and XS - i thought the S looked better on me bc for some reason the XS one flared out more. Confused

also with the S i was wearing the ivory cords, with red underwear underneath. i really couldn't see the red at all, which i thought was amazing.

also shown: the dress i bought that i don't remember - cap sleeve (knit top) with chiffon blue skirt. i thought it was different but i have no idea where i'll wear that. (2nd photo with belt in XS/S, which I exchanged for S/M so it shouldn't cut in as much now)

peplum dress in blue, 2. i didn't think it was made for my body type as the top was a little restricting (and you can see a weird ruffle around the chest area) but the bottom was a bit loose. i tried a 0 also and the skirt fit me great, but the top could barely zip up. now i know this style is not for me and i can stop looking at it. laugh out loud

stripe ponte knit fit n flare dress [express.com] in XS - i really like these stripes and i thought this was cute. it's not the most flattering cut for me in general but i thought it worked ok.

color block shift dress [express.com] in XS - generally this shape works well for me due to my smaller hips. it fit me everywhere except the shoulders, which were at least 2 inches too narrow. i didn't bother trying a S.

Heads up to everyone who used the free shipping returns swim shipping code, make sure they didn't charge you an extra $12 when your merchandise shipped. It's super shady because the order confirm shows the correct amount. The shipment confirmation shows the correct item price breakdown AND s&h shows free but the numbers don't add up. Called vs n they said I placed the order in store n it didn't apply correctly "for some reason" What bs. I told her this was an online order. She wasnt at all apologetic, but she said I'd receive a credit for the difference in 7-10 business days. Super shady

dont feel bad. Vs is being so shady with this offer!
thanks for the HU wolfie. did this happen to everyone? that's annoying if it did. i'm off to check it now.

I think the peplum dress looks good on you. It's the same color I own now.

The flaring on the peplum top may be from the waist being tight. I tried that in the s and my tummy looks round.

I should have at least tried that striped fit n flare dress too. Looks cute on you.

I have the ivory gold black shift dress and I like it. Must be the difference on the built of our shoulders. It came with a belt with gold buckle but it's too small for me.

yeah, it's probably from it being too small. the XS was stretched out more than i like - the S was a bit loose but much better. i probably should have just asked to exchange my shirt for clearance merchandise, but oh well. i like that 2 color dress i got bc it's different from my other dresses that i own, but i'm still unsure where to wear it. maybe i can put a blazer over it and wear it to work.

oh, i tried on my ivory cords again today and i can see my underwear (stripes today) so i guess your DH was right. not sure why i couldn't see the red. i also noticed my ivory in 4 has a waistband about an inch smaller than the grey/blue ones i ordered online. i guess different manufacture dates affected this - the grey/blue was from 05/12 and the ivory from 06/12.

i tried the bourbon mushroom steak sauce from that book and didn't really like it. that may be the only thing i tried.

Those potatoes look good. I may try them tonight. Thanks for the recipe.

We never left DS, when he was young, so I know how it is. There are ways to stay home & still be romantic. heart My DH & I have a romantic night in most weekends, & we don't have a little one anymore. They're much more cost efficient than going out all the time.

I like the peplum dress on you too. It creates an impressive hourglass figure. OMG Both sizes in the top looked good. Is the colorblock dress different in person than online? It doesn't look like the same dress to me. My eyes could be deceiving me though.

Give her a break. Maybe, she had been to the zoo & was attacked by a lion. She had to stop by Sephora, after going to the emergency room, to pick up concealer to cover the stitches. It could happen. laugh out loud

Speaking of being conservative, I must be uber conservative. I don't even like the bra strap showing on a regular off-the-shoulder top or dress.

It's amazing to be surrounded by a diverse crowd in your formative years. We all joked around and were self-deprecating about our cultures/stereotypes. That helped me learn a lot about what others viewed in their own culture as their strengths and vulnerabilities. Family interactions/expectations were so interesting too! I kind of feel like my friends got the short end of the learning stick- the only knowledge gleaned from my contribution was that Jerry Springer/soap opera families do exist laugh out loud
Very well said and I can't agree more!

I'd like to buy that rose corset for DH for Valentine's Day, but I'm not willing to pay that much for lingerie. Frown It's so cute.
I got the merrywidow with my RC!! And two garter belts. Finally, some stuff looking less trashy and more elegant! I still don't like the bling, but will suck it up. It's a balconet and I don't look good in those, but I like the overall look. I had to have them take it off the mannequin and it didn't have a tag so they made one and put it through the fabric instead of the tag. When I need to go return some pants, I'm going to have them move the tag. I don't know when I will wear it and I don't cut off tags until I do so I'm getting peeved that there will be a hole in my item, even though it was 90% paid off by RC nod

Cute stripe ponte knit on you! I think it looks REALLY REALLY good! I think the peplum top on the second photo looks best, I can't tell which size that one is.

Also, no, I think that girl in Sephora just looks downright trashy. She's probably thinking she's trendy or something, but the fact that you can see her muffin top makes her look even trashier.

black/blue dress was on clearance. i couldn't find it on the site - original price 69.90, mfg date says 10/12. i wonder if it was in store only? it looks sort of like a hi-lo dress they have now, but that is a tank. Dontknow it was 49.99 clearance. i got S and it fits.

thanks! my wide belt doesn't cinch as well now bc i exchanged for a larger size. laugh out loud but it's more comfortable so i suppose that's ok. i tried the dress with the lace blazer. looks like an ok outfit for work! Smilie thanks for the confirmation.
