Mmm love creme brûlée! Do you have a torch for the top sugar layer?
Yep, I used a blow torch for the top layer of the sugar. I think there was too much sugar according to the recipe, it was too sweet for me on top. Definitely know to put a lot less next time!
she ended up trying the entire store and sending her BF out to get sizes and stuff. it was so irritating to hear them talking next to me after the earlier transgression.
When I went out shopping with girlfriends this weekend, they got rooms started for us and our clothes were hanging from doors, but then people were in all of our rooms, so they put us in rooms towards the back where there were no one and it was a little more private without all the foot traffic. I thought that was kinda weird, but we went back for more clothes and got another room started and same thing happened. So I thought it was common to have rooms "started" but then you actually got a different room
That's so lame about your dressing room experience.

that experience was at glendale. i went to santa anita later that day (yes, 2 stores in 1 day = addicted
i've never had it where the clothes are hanging on an occupied room. it sounds like for you guys, ppl just took your rooms as well. their fitting rooms probably get very busy and the employee probably got tired of unlocking the doors all the time so they just left the door ajar when the fitting room is "started".
to be fair, there have been many times when i've gone into a fitting room without asking an employee to open it. but i have never done so with things hanging on the front! every time i've done this the room and the door were empty.
funny story - when i was in the store trying on that dress (and other tops and stuff), someone came and asked if i wanted a fitting room started. i said sure and gave her my name. then when i was ready to try stuff on, i went to the fitting room only to find that the door on which all my stuff was hanging was locked and occupied. i went to reach for my stuff and a guy was like 'there's someone in there' (in a not so nice tone)... so i said "yeah well she took my fitting room because that's all my stuff". his response: "that's not her fault"...

That creme brulee sounds delicious.
Starting out cooking from scratch is very expensive. When I used to do it a lot, I kept my pantry & fridge stocked. Staples & spices will last a long time. That made meals much cheaper. Now that I rarely cook, it costs a lot for me to make a meal. We could eat out cheaper, but sometimes I just want something homemade. If you ever start cooking regularly, it won't
I'm so impressed that you girls are willing to try on so much. I despise it. When I do go to a store, I usually bring the clothes home to try
I'm surprised you don't try clothes in store. I try as much as I can too just to avoid dealing with needing another size or having to return things before I can't. My eyes like a lot of what it sees but my body shape likes to hate
I think most of the time they offer to start rooms if its not too busy. Otherwise they really shouldn't offer that courtesy if they cannot guarantee your fitting room ...
I eat out all the time. Only eat in during week nights... I don't have any spices at home. Only salt n pepper n maybe cayenne powder. I am interested in making things but the exotic list of things I've never even heard of discourage me. I think also because my parents are super health conscious so they don't eat sweets or anything remotely fattening. We all know the good stuff is all of the above. No fun to just cook for myself n DBf. Too much effort!

i agree with you about trying stuff on. you never really know how it's going to look on you until you try it on for yourself. i mean i've gotten pretty good at guessing what may be good and what wouldn't, but it's still hard without trying first.

I usually try to go into a fitting room if there is no employee to be found and definitely not with stuff inside. This Brea store had clothes hanging outside out of all the fitting rooms. I think as a style guide or something?
No idea what their protocol is, but it seems like the fitting room attendees asked for our names and knew what stuff was ours
I can't wait for the rest of my Express shipments!
I got that one black fit and flare dress and it fits like a dream. No belt needed. The waist seam is perfect and doesn't look off at all.
that experience was at glendale. i went to santa anita later that day (yes, 2 stores in 1 day = addicted :l ol: but i didn't mean to go to the 2nd one... i just happened to be in the area and i had more returns to do still) and they started a room for me and when i went to ask about it, they found my stuff hanging inside a room, with the door locked. i think this is closer to what they're supposed to do - when any store starts a fitting room for you, i'm used to them putting the items inside the room, locking the door, and hanging 1 piece on the door (so you know it's your room). then you have to ask to be let into it.

I don't know why I have such an aversion to trying on clothes, but I always dread it. My arms, as well as the rest of me, are short. I'm also not as flexible as I was pre-arthritis. That makes it hard to zip clothes w/o help & some tops/dresses w/o zippers are hard to remove. I don't like coming out to ask DH for help in uni-sex fitting rooms. I'm strange, I know.
...
No kidding.

Have you tried sweetening your oatmeal with honey? It's much healthier than sugar, and to me it tastes even better. I sweeten tea and oatmeal with honey and i prefer it over sugar. (I also don't love sugar tho - I rarely crave sugary things)
That makes sense why you don't like fitting rooms. I like trying things on in the comforts of my own home a lot more than trying stuff on in store. If I had your limitations I would bring all things home to try as well.

I'm also considering the tab sleeve tee http://www.express.com/tab-sleeve.../index.pro. Have any of you tried it on? I'm guessing I'll need a S in it.
