thank you for the clarification!

speaking of plain black top, i ordered the tulip back tank [express.com] in black to try. i think you shorter folks may like it - the XS was too short on me but was otherwise very cute! i may get it in S. it's cheap and i really love the tulip back design, plus this one won't do that weird pulling thing at the chest. it runs a bit wide so the S may be too big for me but i'll try it. too bad it's gone from the site! Frown
which one is this? i think i missed it Frown. i love tulip back too.

here's a photo of the back:

the front looks just like a normal knit tank.

Girls, I need suggestion on what to wear on catholic funeral mass Embarrassment Hubby is boss's wife died of pancreatic cancer, all these happened within 2 months of time between them diagnosing it and her passing away Sadwalk they have a daughter 16 year old. My heart goes out for them. DH and boss had more than just professional relations ( his boss invited us to their beach house one summer for pizza party ) and I think we will attend the funeral on Saturday.
Sorry to hear about the lady... with pancreatic, they go so quick they don't have much time to prepare themselves much less their family. Comfort . Unfortunately, I've been to 3 Catholic funerals in the last 2 years... this is what I observed: Dark subdued colors (like the others have said) - all black is not necessary. In general, I think you're supposed to aim for somber and respectful- so no crazy or distracting patterns. If you're going to wear a skirt, aim for knee-length and paired with nylons/tights (it's cold and you'd be the only one with bare legs - in summer it was different). With a top - no cleavage and no see-thru. Also- for jewelry, it's not the time to make a statement with that "statement necklace"(big chunky distracting thing). You can PM me if you want to know more about what these things are like. If it's going to be a full mass (which I think is more likely with a sudden passing like this Scratchchin ), then while they might feed you afterward, be sure to eat beforehand - it can go for a while.

ok just ordered some tops from vs. we'll start with that. laugh out loud there were some in clearance - what color do y'all think 'carbon' is? black or really dark grey?
I have a top in that color, carbon is a very dark gray nod

I want that top too. I've been looking for some coral shorts to wear with it, but I can't find any in my size that are longer. Express 2" shorts are too short for my liking. Any suggestions on where to buy longer size 2 shorts?
. ..
Target has these in calypso coral [target.com]
Old Navy has these [gap.com] . I expect Gap or Old Navy to come out with some coral jean shorts soon. Them and Banana Republic outlet are where I got my colored decent-length shorts last year... priced b/w $15-20 on sale.

i just got these jessica simpson flats [macys.com] in the mail. i ordered them from macys during some sale - i paid 16.xx for them. they are sooooooo comfy!!! i'm so glad i got both colors - i may keep them both! they feel like little pillows on my feet - there's a LOT of cushioning. i only tried the 7.5 but it felt like the right size. i also ordered the 7 to try but will probably keep the 7.5. soooooo comfy!!!
Now I want to try these too! Hope they're not being discontinued. I can't see myself wearing crazy colors!

I have a few crazy colored shoes. You can always just do them with a solid black or white dress until you get used to their funkiness!

hehe, true. I usually have bold colored tops and neutral bottoms, including neutral shoes. So weird to be so bold. My boldest color are red shoes.

I just call them crazy because people normally wear a neutral shoe. I don't think blue and violet are crazy on a top though. I'm just going off the norm I guess.

interesting. how about that pinky purple color?
i'm really just asking bc i don't think it's crazy at all so i'd like to know the other perspectives.

i also think red is a crazier color than that blue. Coverlaugh funny how different perspectives can be.
that was a popular shoe style tho. i think i've seen it in a lot of colors. looks like they retail for $50 so it's not that bad! (if you look around macys there's a black patent version... i'm sure there are others!).

i tend towards black and grey tops and have a lot of them. i think i would only wear them with solid somber colors. they're so comfy that i'm not sure i would mind tho... i'll have to do some more breaking in later bc i didn't have that much time at lunch. but on initial feel my feet felt great!

i was thinking black top, jeans, colored shoe. i think i do that now.

Yeah, that pinky purple color is actually really loud to me. I think a deep rich plum would be something I'd wear. For shoes, I go with classic colors like black. I am okay with different fabrics like suede. I think red is a classic color and adds a nice flair without being too loud. If I stop at a Macy's, I will take a look!

I have lots of colored tops, except neon colors. Reds, purples, pinks, blues of all shades. My staple colors are red, white, and black. Those tops are usually paired with jeans or shorts (black or denim). Sweaters are neutral to pair with colored tops and then black shoe.

My casual dresses are all bold colors, usually a bit on the darker side or rich jewel tones.

I just picked up a pair of XS express yoga pants and S exercise shorts. There was another pair that was cropped that I REALLY wanted but they took off the site really early. Maybe they are finding boxes of the sport stuff. I really hope so because I love their sport clothes!
