i'm so glad someone else agrees with me on the sleeveless portofino. i can still remember 2 sleeveless shirts i had vividly - a white and a blue. i might be on board if it cut away a bit more at the shoulders, but in general it is very 90s. like GH says i guess every fashion trend cycles... i do the regular ones tho!

about the camera sling - i got DH a sling for the camera when he travelled alone for an extended period. the sling got good reviews - i think the purpose is that you can just sling it forward and reach the camera that way, rather than having to slip a strap off of your shoulder to reach the camera. easier access = faster reaction to cool things that you want to take photos of. the one we have really only holds a camera and like a pack of tissue tho - there's not much room for other stuff. it's not a backpack substitute.

My dd called she is worried about her midterm today in math, she did not do well on the last one and has a D+ and needs to pass this one, so if you all here could think good thoughts and say a little prayer for her I would appreciate it.

In linen, I have the light in 2, dark in 4 (and the 4 fits slightly smaller than the 2 and is less wrinkle-prone...wth?).

Oh yes, I remember DH demonstrating that move . It works before you strap on the telephoto lens (velcros onto the outside) and load it with 2 other lenses, and whatever else he has in there. It would probably work if it limited what he brought, but he just buys a bigger bag, stuffs it full, then straps on more accessories .
I know that horrible feeling. I failed a math class with an F myself in college. (If you didn't get a C or above, you got an F). One way to comfort her and let her know it's not over if she does fail, would be to look up the school's policy on re-taking classes and how they calculate GPA. When I attended a UC school, you could take a class up to 3 times and they would take the best grade you got to calculate your GPA. This meant I still have the F on my transcript, but I took it at a later date (during summer when I could focus better) and replaced it with a 4.0 A in my GPA... much better than the 4.0 units of F. Knowing that you can fix your GPA later was a great relief because I thought it was the end of the world and was having panic attacks about it. I have 2 of those and still had options for grad and professional schools. So long as this is the exception on her transcript and not the rule, I'm confident she will be OK no matter how it turns out
I have not tried this year's version. One from last year that I tried was a similar sheen fabric but with cuffs, large leg holes and a billowy butt. I remember thinking the waist a little tight in 2 but not undo-able. The cut may be similar just sans cuffs, but I'm not sure
