nod I treat eye makeup like it's made out of gold. I still can't make myself throw out old mascara...I have a stockpile of new ones that's probably going bad on me but I can't make the transition. Warnings of eye infections don't deter me. It feels too wasteful Crazy

ComfortThat sounds like a lot to deal with... Yes in my dreams, I have triple paned windows haha. At the money pit we have double paned windows, but people go 55mph - semis, motorcycles, etc... so it dulls it but was a constant source of stress. Can you schedule a massage, facial, pedicure or something before you start next week?
I treat my eye makeup the same way too! I think I've thrown out a total of 5 mascaras in like...10 years Hide I use it til it's all gone (2 of them) or until they really really start smelling funky. I wish I wasn't so obsessed when I was younger and bought so many and opened up all the tubes Bonk me

Yeah, that was all just in one day. I will not get started on the previous days...which is why I haven't really been around and just skimming the thread. Totally missed SH's question!

Yeah! I've been wanting to book a massage this week! I need to use the GC DBF gave me. But alas, I had acupuncture done this past weekend since my mom was trying one and I figured it might help my ulnar nerve that I injured and gets re-injured easily. Then the acupuncturist started mashing all these other nerves with his hand and it really flared up my old injuries from my accidents, my ulnar nerve, and left a bunch of hurty needle pokes in my lower back. I can't bear to lie down since it feels all bruised let alone be massaged. My knees have been acting funny and now I'm scared to wear heels to work since I have to walk a block to get to the building Crying What did I do to myself? shake head

So...massage in the horizon, after all my wounds heal shake head

Are there any really good short youtube videos for how to apply eyeliner and eyeshadow that anyone recommends. Really klutz proof videos. I don't use any makeup other than lipgloss and my mom never showed me how to apply anything other than blush. I still don't know how to apply eyeshadow in order to avoid raccoon eyes and when these pallettes come in from urban decay, I'd like to surprise DH. Embarrassment
I think porda gave a really thorough explanation. My issue is having the eyeliner stay without smudging. I always use primer and then layer with a neutral eyeshadow before I start the eyeliner application process. Just a heads up in case you experience any smudging or inability for the eyeliner to stay.

Also - I also apply eyeshadow over eyeliner to increase the staying power

Try Emilynoel or makeupgeektv. They should have some basics video. I'll see if I can find some. I can not promise they'll be short... They make them long for beginners... Long being 10 to 15 mins.

I struggled with it too and my mom was no help either. I don't have a video for you b/c I could never replicate them... but the best techniques that have worked for me are -
- Pencil liner - try it on the hand first, if it's not gliding smoothly, tissue off the dried outer layer of liner, then re-try. (can also warm the stick up in your hands). For application, I do short sweeps (sometimes stabs Teehee ) above the lash line, starting from outside corner working in. I'm aiming for the base of the hair follicle of my lashes. Sometimes I get liner in the hair, but that's an easy fix w/ a Q-tip. I add the swept up corners at the end of application. I think it takes me 10-15 swipes to make a continuous line all the way across. Helps keep my line tight to the lash and the saturation of color consistent.
- Gel liner - My Stila smudgepots dry out on me so I always wipe a little off the top with a tissue to get at the smoother stuff. I use a brush and do maybe 2 long sweeps across.

ETA - you know who should be able to help? AYA!
Multiquoting so I can have the information readily available for when my order gets in. Thanks everyone hug

Okay, so my best friend's wedding is Sunday (yup, Father's Day), and I'm an usher. I'm going to the rehearsal dinner on Saturday. What do you all think about the black lace fashion star dress with nude heels. Does that seem appropriate?

Also, FYI, I can wear the VS multiway strapless that's a little lower cut in nude and nothing shows with that dress. I don't even need a special bra.

You can appreciate this story. I'll never forget my deceased sister, her DH, & little girl coming to visit us many years ago. Her DD & my DS were probably around 8 & 10. They had a major argument on the way to Disney. It was over beans. Stick Out Tongue My niece said she wanted some soup beans. My DS asked what soup beans were, so I told him what she was talking about. That ignited a fight that lasted until we got there over soup beans vs. pinto beans. Neither was willing to concede they were wrong. laugh out loud
I say pinto beans or pintos. Don't eat those either Teehee. Do y'all say butter beans or is that a BAMA thing?

Iagree love naked 2! travels much better than the first one.

stila cardboard cases suck. i hate them. i like their shadows in general, though prefer their shimmers to their mattes. but i prefer shimmers in general. i think it's harder for any company to make mattes well - they are often quite chalky. (i bought that stila palette from stila during that sale but i gave it away to a friend to likes mattes... who knows if she will ever use it)

one palette that i really like for neutrals with both mattes and shimmers is the lorac pro palette. it's small with a large mirror so it's good for travel, the shadows rock, it's well-organized, and it's got a great assortment of light and dark neutrals. it's a really good palette.
Need to try lorac. Lancome makes a great matte shade called positive. I don't go without it. Makes my eyes pop!

nerdi or kurpee, will the crochet lace shorts be too short for me?
I returned. They were too big for me Sadwalk. I dont think they're too short but I like short shorts.

i used to be like that. i had mascaras from like... i don't know, 8 years ago? i finally told myself that it was silly of me to try to get the last bit out of a sample tube of mascara considering i use mascara about once a month, tops... so i've been trying to be better about tossing them. it helps to go through my stash... whenever i get together samples to sell, i tell myself that i'm only going to make a buck tops off of a tube of mascara and it would be better if i just used it myself. then i go toss an old tube and replace it with a brand new one. i just did this on sunday!

and yes! aya would be perfect for this! where is she... look around

I think so. And the leg opening is big for skinny legs.
my mom tells me to use the water from washing rice to feed plants. laugh out loud supposedly it's got a lot of nutrients in there... but i don't have any plants.

did you ever try the trouser shorts? i thought the leg openings for those were way bigger than the crochet shorts. i don't remember minding the leg openings of the crochet (just felt short for me) but i feel like i might show my undies with the trouser shorts. then again i tried the crochet a very long time ago.

I might have tried it but from years ago. And yeah, the crochet shorts are big... I would need to size down, but I didn't bother reordering because I already thought it is too short.

I do the same thing when deciding what to sell. I see how little the serum or cream samples go for, then I think I should just use them, then think I have too many.

Thanks for the comparison. I haven't tired the trouser shorts only the 4 1/2", sailor, & frayed denim shorts. I just noticed the crochet shorts are hand wash, so I think I'll pass. Hand washing is a pain. Plus, I like my clothes to come out of the dryer soft & Downy fresh. Teehee
I machine wash handwash clothes. If I remember I put them in mesh bags.

I don't have many, but I machine wash them too. I try to just remember to put them in using the gentle wash cycle.
