Oh, well having never made it, can you post a picture of the top when it is done? Or tell me about it, does the mashed potato turn brown/a little burnt like a pastry, or how does it work?

Yeah, the tips/edges of the potatoes brown very nicely, then it's time to remove it from the oven.
