yeah, these are preciously petite berries, so they won't overwhelm. make a nice topping, so no frosting. there'll be optional veg whip though

blackberries are tasty yet kinda on the large size for a regular cake Dontknow

Granted, I am making steak tonight, so that should be tasty if I can cook it right...(never done it before and I only have a skillet to cook them on so any suggestions would be great)...

And Phrozty's been much happier lately so maybe I'll get lucky too...just can't be too loud with the kid sleeping. Sadwalk

Get the skillet almost smoking hot and sear both sides of the steak for no more than two to three minutes per side. Don't press down, Don't flip more than once. If you prefer medium instead of medium-rare, let it cook for four to five minutes per side.

room up meat before cooking

med high flame, preheat, dry skillet

cook 4-5 min/side, cover. FLIP ONCE

rest it 5-10 min before serving

make pan sauce w/a bit o butter & broth, if desired

good luck!

They're fairly thick (1/2-3/4 in thick)...will that ensure the sides cook as well?

I was gonna make up some bacon to put in my green beans...should I use separate pans or the same pan...

And I have the marinade I soaked the steaks in...should I use that as a sauce and make it up in a separate pan/sauce pot?

It really should. Like CQ1 said, be certain to let the steaks come to room temperature before you start cooking them. If they're still cold from the fridge, the center won't cook well enough.

If the meat has already been soaking in the marinade, you seriously need to boil the marinade for several minutes if you're going to use it for a sauce. Dissolve a scant teaspoon of flour in a 1/4 cup of cold water, and add it to the boiling marinade to thicken.

how big is skillet? don't wanna crowd. if need be, cook one at a time & place in warm oven

sides should cook. if you want, can sear sides using tongs, after steak is cooked

fresh gb's or canned or frozen? cook bacon in a clean pan, till crispy. remove

(if this is the same pan as steaks, clean pan first, before cooking steaks)

prepare gb's as desired and add bacon before serving

unless you want a southern style, soft bacon you can simmer beans w/bacon

no. dump marinade. purpose has been served.

pat steaks dry/damp before cooking
