tomorrow night is another sorta-date-night laugh out loud

R and i are going to make Schnitzel, with spaetzle and German red cabbage on the side. i'd like to make Jaeger schnitzel, which is the schnitzel topped with a brown mushroom gravy.

VF, can i make a variation of that basic mushroom gravy recipe you gave me awhile back? or does this need to be different because it's all "Rawr German" stuff laugh out loud

our Burrito Cancun is grilled shrimp, stuffed into a gigantic flour tortilla along with grilled peppers, onions, and tomatoes....and i think there's a couple other things in there too maybe? served alongside rice and refried beans drool

A German take on it would use red beet juice, instead of wine, and possibly a splash of red wine vinegar to spike the flavor.

You'd like the veggie dishes at our Chinese restaurant, Taipei South. [yelp.com] Everything is freshly peeled and chopped each day, and kept chilled until it's thrown in the wok. The wife likes their mixed Chinese vegetables in garlic sauce.

Get Knorr's McCormick's "Hunter Sauce" mix, and add in your own fresh sliced shrooms and a splash of red wine. You're golden.

Thank goodness the Barves got out of San Francisco with at least one win. They're in Phoenix to play the Diamondbacks tonight, so at least I get to watch the beginning of this game.
