Gee, it's too bad some of the syrup is spilling/bubbling out of the pan and hitting the floor of the oven, making the smell more intense in the house. Wink

Surprisingly little sugar (1/4 cup) went in with the strawberries. They were mostly ripe and some were very ripe, so they were pretty sweet. But it's surprising how tart the syrup was.

It isn't the sugar, salicylate sensitivity. Looks like ADHD. When dad's raspberries come in it will be a challenge to keep them away.

Good call on the ice cream.

I think the mystery cake was chosen because the kid wanted to make it. It's chocolate (which is alright, but I prefer yellow, white, or red velvet).

This cake is very chocolatey and moist. Just got my cards, and the teen just left to go meet K so they can go buy my present.
