I did have a chat with the kid this weekend about how since she keeps the keys on a lanyard, to put them on her neck instead of on the seat. And she did at least have her purse on her the last time she locked the keys in, so I told her which place in town I found that could actually make the key (since the first two places couldn't), and how much it cost, and that it might behoove her to get one made and keep it in her purse.

A la carte, which is cheaper. I just ask for a cup of water (because when I first started transitioning, when I asked for water sometimes they'd try to sell me a bottle).
Sonic charges for it, so I just plan accordingly and bring my own water when I'll be eating there. No other place here charges, but I've been to other cities where they charge for the cup.

It wasn't really awkward, it was just more of a "I'll pass" kinda thing, and life went on.
