Sounds like the NHL and NHLPA finally agreed on a deal.
Now who's ready for some hockey??

Tonight my hockey friends will either be really happy or really pissed off. I know more Red Wings fans than Hawks fans. Yet I am staying neutral in this matchup.
As long as Pittsburgh doesn't win the Cup, I don't care who wins anymore.

Do I want Boston to win the Cup: NO.

Actually, lemme ask a serious question. Around forums, sports blogs, commentary on sports new sites.. I see a trend of utter hatred towards Boston and I've been trying to figure it out as objectively as possible. Most people that I find seem to consider the Bruins one of the dirtiest teams in the NHL.
I see the Marchand aspect. Yeah, he's a pest, he's can be a dick on the ice, unfortunately takes a dive or two.. but dirty? I don't think so. Maybe I'm missing something?
I hear a lot of bitching about Chara. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I still see nothing wrong with the hit on Pacioretty. It was just an unfortunate incident that came about as part of the game and fortunately shit happens. Outside of that, when has Chara been a dirty player?
Lucic? No, just plays hard.
Are there so many NHL fans who are just unable to understand the difference between hard-nosed, physical play and being a dirty team?

Ovechkin gets called a dirty player all the time as well. Yes, some of his hits have been questionable, I'll agree with that. But he also turns it up a notch at times and just plays hard, hard, hard.
Theo Fleury was seen as dirty at times. Same with Owen Nolan and Keith Tkachuk. Hell, even Joe Thornton was seen as a dirty player at times. And none of those guys were "dirty" in my mind.
I think the problem is all the n00b fans that don't know the difference. They think that any time a player gets hurt, it's a dirty hit. To me, a dirty hit is one that is either blindside (but then again, DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON THE PLAY), a cheap shot (ala Marty McSorley or Todd Bertuzzi) or just bonehead plays.
I don't think Boston is a dirty team.
The remaining 5 teams were also the last 5 teams to win the stanley cup.

The non-goal in the 3rd because of the penalty to Abdelkater and whoever for Chicago was just bad. I realize there was crap going on, but it was behind the play and had no bearing on what happened as a result. Detroit got lucky there, but too bad for them Chicago took care of business in OT.
And on the lighter side, my team won 9-5 last night.

I had a goal and an assist last night. I think I'm at a PPG rate right now. Too bad I'm only playing half the summer.

PPG is pretty good. I'm a defensive center, but tend to manage about .80ppg overall. Some seasons I manage to find the back of the net a lot more. This past season I only had 2 goals and 9 or 10 assists. Much more of a set up guy.
