Anyone following the Carnival Triumph cruise ship story?

Carnival Triumph engine fire; lost power; tug boats pulling it to Mobile, AL.

The 500 or so McDonald's franchisees and executives onboard should at least be used to the conditions if they've spent much time in one of their restaurants.

We cruise on Carnival 5 months from today! laugh out loud (different ship though)

We were saying the same thing. Sounds like a good deal to me. Plus they get 50% off a future cruise. And a refund on the days the cruise was cut short, of course.

laugh out loud Yeah, as long as it isn't unbearably hot, and really disgusting, I'd be fine with losing power, chilling out on an island, and flying home for free Smilie

As for the Triumph though... I don't know who they think they will get to vacation on there again. I liked it the time I went in the past, but Ermm I don't think I'll be going back on that one.

Dream passengers got a couple of days on St. Maarten, then the flight home, instead of a couple of sea days. I'd take the days in port too. The onboard "experience" isn't as much of a draw for me as are the ports.

if i wanted to be stuck at sea, i'd join the damn navy. at least they pay you instead of you payin them. 90% of the time you are on the damn boat except for the few hours they let you off to buy stuff someplace besides the dumb ship stores. i'm flyin to cancun next time

a lot of the touristy places they say are fine but still i wouldn't touch the ice but i ate the jello Doh.
