The part where he ran over the runners was just one of the funny side skits they do. The bombing part was more related to how he befriended terrorists and didn't know it. He was loving the middle east life style and then they had him do some terrorist things like blowing up a bridge. He didnt realize that every time he dialed a number on the phone they gave it set off a bomb.
Lastly once he figured out they were terrorists he contacted the fbi who set him up as an informant with a wire to gather more intelligence. That is when they found out he was an informant and made him blow up the bridge, he fought and saved the bridge...until he accidentally dialed out on the phone again and blew it up...

The suspect is identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Miss., according to federal officials.
