There have been reports of explosives and grenades. Also, a stolen police vehicle. I'm just relaying what others have reported....so who knows.

As much as I want them dead, I'd at least like for them to be questioned first.

I've got a scanner app... I wonder what to listen to that would be involved...

They took down the feed for the main BPD, Fire and EMS (for officer safety). There may be others, but that was the biggie.

If they can, capture him alive, question him, get info, speedy trial, execute publicly in downtown. fark this guy and those that are like him.

Ah, okay. Makes sense. From reading what was posted here, if the suspect was able to keep up with it as well, that wouldn't be very helpful for the police.

I have reports from others that the police scanners are all blacked out now for safety. Any one experience this?

It is never a "shoot first" situation. If he is visibly armed with firearms or something similar, then law enforcement is likely to engage.

Authorities have asked news media/reporters to move further away from where they have been standing. They also asked them to get down on the ground. They are back up off the ground and moving further back. Reporter on site reports snipers are in position.....
