My truck was broken into and my Chromebook I won on SD was taken...:( NEW *****UPDATE!!! Post 188 Police put it on FB finally!!!!!!

What a bad day it was. I went into the gym to workout and someone opened up my truck and took my new Chromebook. The one I just won in Dec from SD. Crying I always lock my doors. But I have no damage to the doors. Did I forget and leave them unlocked? That would be so unlike me. The cop said that it is possible that they were able to jimmy the locks without leaving any damage to the door. Sadwalk

Comfort It's an expensive lesson but maybe now you'll remember not to leave anything of value in your vehicle. If everyone did this, then thieves wouldn't have a reason to break into cars.

I'm amazed at what I read in the police blotter every week, the stuff people leave in cars is just crazy. I've seen lists of jewelry, laptops, expensive phones, valuable art (of all things), guns, fur coats, etc. Don't make yourself a target in the first place then you won't have to worry about this in the future. Smilie

The only thing that stays in my car is the GPS and I purposely don't have a window suction cup holder for the GPS because that's a red flag to a thief that there's a GPS in the car. Instead I use a sticky pad on the dash, the kind you use for cell phones so they don't slide off. When I'm not using the GPS it's in a compartment out of site.

Considering that Best Buy has cameras all over the place and you know the time, couldn't you or the police get the surveillance tapes and maybe catch the perp?
